Emily was still fuming over the stupidity of boys, extremely annoyed that the fates would allow her to be related to one of the biggest idiot boys she had ever seen, when she entered the Artemis House cursing in Ancient Greek.
"Such Language my dear," Emily stopped dead recognizing the voice instantly, bowing her head as she spoke meekly,
"Apologies, My Lady," she could feel the goddess' silver eyes upon her, which for the first time made Emily uncomfortable. She hadn't been gone from the Hunt, all that long in truth, maybe 6 months at most. But it had been on Artemis' orders that she left in the first place. The goddess had known that Emily had been needed to reunite with her stupid brother, and help bring the Romans to the Academy. As disastrous as the quests had been, the ultimate goal had been achieved in the end. Emily had hoped that the goddess would be waiting when she returned with the stupid boys, but was bitterly disappointed when she had not been there. Nor had the goddess accepted any of her Iris messages either. Emily had been stuck at the Academy simply waiting, which had made her bitter and angry, feeling abandoned like a broken tool.
"Child, you know that I sent you here for a reason," Artemis stated as fact. "There were lessons that you needed to learn, which you could only learn here. I do hope that you did learn something, even if you do not recognize it now."
Emily stared at the floor directly in front of the goddess, either unable or simply unwilling to look up. Shame coursed through her like a fiery river, what lessons had she learned here that could not have learned on the Hunt with Artemis? Emily wasn't sure and felt guilty for not having realized that that could have been the only reason Artemis would have left her here.
"You will see what you have learned, in time Child. Let us speak no more on it. Gather you things, it is time we were off,"
Emily nodded meekly, gathering her gear together in a silvery backpack. "I am ready My Lady,"
"Are there any farewells you wish to make before we leave?" Artemis asked not betraying the slightest bit of emotion.
"No My Lady, I am with you, and that is all that matters to me," Emily said quietly, feeling a bit inadequate to be in the goddess' presence once again, but know it was the only place she had ever felt she truly belonged.
"Very well, then let us be off," with that they both faded into a silvery light, leaving the Academy far behind them.
