Lets Get More Personal
Likes: nighttime, listening to music (particularly Hannah Fury), a certain demi-monster (who may end up having to be stock…is anyone playing a demi-monster?), the color gray, stars, astronomy, playing keyboard, the Harry Potter series, cats, owls, her friends.
Dislikes: anyone not her friend, heights, hypocrites, dogs, bad music in general, rap in particular, being ignored because almost no one has heard of Nyx, people disrespecting her friends or family, people hurting her friends.
Personality: November is a confident, arrogant girl. She knows what she’s doing, and she doesn’t need one’s help. November’s generally sarcastic, and she considers rules more guidelines—followed when convenient, ignored when not. November holds too much confidence in the fact that all the gods are afraid of her mother, and that most of them are related to her in some way or other—for example, Morpheus is her nephew; Eris her older sister. But this can’t protect her from everything, because nothing short of her death will alert the night titaness. November is respectful to Pontos and the other teachers, but not like you would be to a god, more like one would be to one’s mortal principal. And arrogant means arrogant. November thinks she can do anything, and reality oughta catch up with her fast. She’s very protective of her friends, and will do what it takes to keep them safe.
History: November was born on the first of November, All-Soul’s Day. Her father was overjoyed—and her mother, Nyx, left soon after her birth because she didn’t want Antonello to know what she was. In the words of Aphrodite, “better a bittersweet memory than an immortal, unattainable goddess”. November grew up with her father, and they were just your regular happy family, right? She got in trouble a lot at school—not because of monsters or her half-blood reflexes, but because she talked back to all the teachers who weren’t actually monsters in disguise or something. When she was twelve, her father told her the story of how he met her mother:
He was just out of college, walking across the street, when wham, he gets hit by a bus. He would have died right then and there if not for Nyx, who healed him and altered the memories of the general populace so that he’d merely been bumped, not full-on run over. She takes him back to his house, and, no surprise, they hit it off. It was a couple of months until they actually started dating, but it was a perfect match. And then, three months in, Nyx discovered she was pregnant. They had their beautiful baby girl on All Soul’s Day…and then Antonello’s mysterious girlfriend just up and disappeared, leaving him with baby November and a large amount of cash, with which he proceeded to start his business.
When November was thirteen years old, she had a dream about the smiling woman in her dad’s one picture of her mom, and a heck of a lot of people. Nyx introduced herself by saying, “Hello, November, I’m your mother.” To which November replied, “My mom disappeared.”
“Where did you think she disappeared to? My name is Nyx, and I am…many things, but among them I am your mother. And these are your brothers and sisters.”
At which point her extremely large, extremely dysfunctional family was introduced to her. November loves ‘em, although they can’t spend five minutes in each other’s company without starting an argument. Soon after that, a satyr came stating she’d been enrolled in Half-Blood Academy, and brought voucher-thingies signed with the Greek equivalent of the letter N. November went, and here she is today.
Abilities:
Speed and Strength: November is faster and stronger than your average demigod during the night, although not by much.
Healing: November heals slightly faster than the average demigod. But only at night.
Shadow Travel: again, only at night, although she can go great distances.
Weaknesses: None of her powers work during the day. She’s just a regular girl, albeit one who can see through the Mist and has a high tolerance for ambrosia.
Other Information: Nyx gives her honey from her beehives (YES, NYX HAS BEEHIVES ). And…er…well, it’s very tasty. Also, her knife was a gift from her mother, but basically it just didn’t sharpening.
