If one word could describe Keana and homework right now, distractions would be the word to fit. Everything was distracting her, from the wind blowing the leaves outside to the sound of music coming from somewhere to the simpleness of how playful her bracelet was. She was itching to go outside, to run around the school grounds just to drain the energy from her body. Yet she knew that she would procrastinate on her work, and then at the last moment, she'd be working to finish everything. Keana always procrastinated, and she was trying to not procrastinate this time around. Truth be told though, not being distracted is freaking hard.
Keana didn't want to give up, but she was starting to grow impatient with her work, and herself. Why couldn't she just focus for once? She sighed gently, then went back to trying to read. Though she caught herself a moment later listening to a dog barking from Zeus-knows-where. With a disgruntled sigh, she shut the textbook, and tossed it onto the floor next to her backpack. "That's it, gods damn it. I give up on this bloody homework." she had muttered to nobody other than herself.
She had too much energy, and there were simply too many distractions around the dorm to even think about attempting schoolwork. She arose from her bunk, stretching slightly, and glancing at the clock on the wall. She had been doing homework for over an hour, and she only had gotten two questions done. Lovely. She wasn't sure what she could do to pass a little bit time before she decided to try to work on it again. She could go swimming...or she could go find her brother...there were quite a lot of options for her, yet she was lazy. Maybe it wasn't procrastination, maybe it was simply because she was lazy. Keana didn't know, all she knew is that she didn't want to do her schoolwork.

Marina drummed her fingers on the side of wood of her longboard on her lap in the Administration Building. She had been waiting three hours for the faun guide to get here and show her where she would be staying. Three hours of having to listen to the faun behind the desk inhaling all the desk supplies like it was a buffet. She could hear him burp ever thirty seconds even though he wouldn't open his mouth to do it. It was subtle and silent but with her hearing it wasn't hard to notice. He giggled at the half chewed garden magazine he was reading and eating. She didn't really know what would be so funny about a magazine about plants, but maybe he had an inside joke about some corn chucks that she didn't know about. Finally she couldn't take it anymore, and abruptly stood up and trudged over to the desk. Her face was stern and irritated, one of the looks she had before she ripped someone to pieces. The faun immediately looked up and his giggling died in his throat with a wheeze. She could hear his teeth starting to chatter and could see his knuckles turning white from gripping his magazine. "Point me in the direction of the Roman Encampment NOW! I am sick of waiting- I have sat here for three hours listening to you ingulf yourself with staplers and soda cans Long enough." she spoke through her clenched teeth, leaning further and further over the desk until she was a foot from his face. The faun wheezed again, trying to speak with his mouth moving, he managed a "I-I d..dunno my Lady!" his eyes were fluttering around the room trying not to get caught in her gaze. She felt like medusa for a moment- Like if she tried hard enough he'd turn to stone or something. 'Not a bad idea..' she thought to herself. "Find out then." she said the words like venom and watched him try to upright himself. His hooves had been resting on the table, but when he rushed to pull them away they got caught in the phone wires and he ended up pulling himself out of his chair and falling to the floor upside down. Like a floating goat pinnate. Mari rolled her eyes, "Unbelievable.." she grumbled and picked up her Where The Wild Things Are stuffed animal backpack, Carol. Slinging it over her shoulder as she threw her longboard on the ground. It started to roll speedily away and she ran, hopping on it as it gave her more momentum to skateboard right out the door. Leaving the faun tangled in his edible mess. She remembered where the Roman Encampment had been before, but now she was unsure. Everything had been moved and rebuilt do to the large increase in students. She was more then capable of finding it herself but it was required for most "new" students to have a guide. She pushed her left foot against the the sidewalk hard enough to increase her speed, looking at all the dorms and buildings she passed. She sped past the library, the court yard, and the dining pavilion. Past the Monster Wing and slowed her speed through the Titan Wing. Stopping completely infront of the building dedicated to the Titaness Eurybia. Absentmindedly she rubbed at the birth mark under her left wrist. A claim for a granddaughter by the titaness herself when she was born. Seeing as her mother was the daughter of Eurybia. She promised herself she'd visit back there once she was done in the Encampment and quickly pushed herself back into motion. For the first time she got to see all the Olympian Residences. And at first she was overwhelmed. But the feeling quickly died when she remembered they were Greek not Roman. She sped along and kept her focus straight ahead. Only to catch a rock from out of no where under her wheel, and send her flying amd faceplanting into the bushes. Mari groaned and grumbled not-so-subtle profanities, peeling herself out of the mari-shaped crater she had left in the shrub. She shook her hair out of the leaves, and dusted herself off like nothing had happened. She was so used to tripping, falling, flying, jumping or generally being pushed into, off of, onto, under, over, inside or around anything and everything. There wasnt a day that had gone by that she hadn't done something. She just didn't understand why her second personality (the soldier version) never had problems like this. It wasn't like she had different people living inside of her, she was both in one body and one mind. It was just that when she went into battlemode- you would probably never see her be a klutz. She wiped the dirt off her clothes and face, grabbing her longboard with a grumble as she dislodged the rock. Looking at it for a moment before turning and chucking it as far as she could. For a moment there was silence, as it flew through the air- but then she saw the familiar office-faun, trotting in her direction holding a paper infront of him like a triathlon runner. He was about a hundred feet away when suddenly she caught eye of the rock she had thrown- it fell and fell and BING! hit the furry creature right between the horns. Knocking him unconcious. Mari couldn't contain herself and started bursting out laughing, holding her chest as she tried to return back to her composure. She trotted over to the unconscious satyr and grabbed the paper he dropped. It was her schedule. She grinned and folded it into her pocket, patting the little goat on the head before running back to where she left her stuff. Not bothering to move him or anything. She picked up her belongings and was about to go when she realized where she had fell infront of. Dorm number three. Nept- erh.. Poseidon's. She felt herself chew on her bottom lip and started to rub at her second birthmark under her right wrist, the symbol of Neptune. Moving her fingers to rub at the SPQR tattoo on her forearm as well. She wasn't too sure what was goig through her mind at the moment, but for some strange reason she stepped up and turned the handle, opening the door as she inhaled the fresh scent of the ocean breeze. It was invigorating and she gasped at the feel, opening he door wider as she stepped in warily. She hadn't noticed the girl on the other side of the room though, instead she was more focused on the decorations on the walls and the ceiling and the floor. It was like walking into a mini Neptune's palace. She held tight onto the strap of her Carol backpack, and her longboard with the other. Like she was in uncharted territory but she couldn't find the motivation to run away. Then finally her eyes landed on the petite female and her eyes widened. "Erh... Uh.. " she couldn't find the words and tried motioning with her hands, pointing to the door then to her position and the room and then at the girl, herself, back at the door, the floor the ceiling- she forced herself to put her hand down and just stood there awkwardly staring before turning and starting to flee. ~~~~ Word Count;; 1280 Notes;; Meet Carol, her WTWTA backpack: CLICK ME! ;DMuse;;Fantastico 83

Always with the godsdamned hourses DJ thought darkly as he picked himself back up off the stable floor the the upteenth time that day. The beasts seemed to get more stubborn and unruly every year, or he was losing his touch...nah he was the best horse trainer and rider in the school, there was no way he was losing his touch. The animals were just being difficult because they knew they could.
He grabbed a roan under the jaw, head butting him slightly. "Now listen here you over grown glue bag. You will cooperate with my, of so help me I'll throw you back into the sea and let dad deal with your sorry ass. Do we have an understanding?" DJ asked his mood as black as the sea at night.
Yeah boss, whatever you say boss, DJ was sure that if the horse could roll his eyes he would, but DJ chose to ignore it swinging up into the saddle. No sooner had he gotten his seat than the idiot horse decided it would be a fun game to play rodeo, bucking, twisting and rearing for all he was worth. DJ clung on grimly transmitting the foulest curses he could think of right into the horses pea brain. When the horse finally tired out and stopped trying to throw him DJ grunted, "Are you through?" he didn't wait for the weary horse to reply before putting the spurs to him, sending them both galloping off down a path.
Giving the horse his head to run all out, DJ used pressure from his knees to guide the beast past the obstacles of students, staff and the occasional freaked out nature spirit. He kept the horse going hard, going so fast and so far that they surprisingly found themselves at the dorms and Houses. DJ finally reined the horse in slowing him down bit by bit until it was walking briskly towards the Poseidon House.
Ok ok ok, I give boss. You're the Boss, boss. Can we please take a break?
"That's better DJ muttered as he noticed a fat old satyr laying face down on the path a few feet away, and what looked like a girl with a skateboard trying to bolt out the door. Finding this suspicious, DJ to intercede placing a couple hundred pounds of sweaty horse flesh between her and the grounds.
"Can I help you?"

Keana had arisen, and made her way into the common's, thinking about what she would be doing if she was with her brother Xavier at the moment. ...We'd probably be in China or something like that, visiting one of his friends and eating foreign foods. Or I'd probably be sleeping, or he'd probably be asleep and I'd be managing the boat right now. Thinking about her brother's boat, which she had named Lucy, made her homesick, and sad. She missed being on a boat daily. Being on land wasn't her nature, and she was pretty sure it never would be.
Keana glanced at her nails, and decided that they needed to be coated over in nail polish. She scurried back to her room, grabbed the first bottle of nail polish she could find, then made her way back into the commons, settling down into a chair, and opening the blue polish on a table. She decided she would start with her left hand, since she was right handed, and she focused intently as she painted her pinky finger, trying not to get the sticky substance on her skin.
Her back was to Mariana, and Keana hadn't even heard the girl come in. She was nearly finished with her left hand when she finally heard the girl speak. Keana whirled around, her gaze moving over to Mariana. She tried to understand what the girl was saying with her hands, and she half-wondered if the girl was deaf, or mute. Though she made a noise, so she probably was deaf, which was Keana's best bet. Though before she could even ask her if she really was deaf, or saylick my nostril, let alone crack a smile, the girl was already turning to flee. "Wait!" Keana called, setting the nail polish brush on the table, and springing up to go catch the girl.
Keana had stopped dead in her tracks when she saw the horse reigned up in front of the door, and she knew immediately that DJ had appeared. After all, he was best with the horses, pegasi, etc. Whereas Keana was good at playing with water. Generally she carried around a cup that was filled with H20, so she could have some water on hand with her at all times. Which made her wonder...where the hell did she leave that cup of water? She snapped out of her thoughts, and forced herself to focus on the girl's answer as to why she had came into the Poseidon house in the first place.

Little known tidbit about Ariel? She liked to climb trees and she was pretty good at it too. Ariel supposed it was her height that helped her, though if you wanted to be mean you could say that her tree climbing skills could be related to the sloth like way she sometimes moved and thought. But anyway, Ariel was up there in a tree near the Poseidon residence, writing away in her journal. It wasn't that she didn't have enough privacy inside the residence itself, it was just that she needed to be alone for a while with her thoughts. Also, Ariel didn't get to climb trees all that often, you might never know when Roland Prescott might be up in those branches with his binoculars. If you saw a chance, seize it. That was the rule right?
She was tapping her pen on her knees when she heard rather then saw DJ gallop pass. Ariel scribbled a few more sentences before leaning forward and peeking through the branches toward the front door of the Poseidon residence. She noted a flash of blond hair that belong to a girl she had never seen before and smiled a little, assuming immediately that this girl was a new sister. DJ was seriously getting out numbered, maybe they could all gang up on him and make him wear a dress. Ariel was very sure that hunter green was his color. Opening up her journal again, Ariel wrote down a couple more sentences before capping up her pen and shoving it behind her right ear.
Her journal went between her teeth as she slowly started to climb down the tree. Way was going up always easier then going down? She'd have to ask DJ about that later on. With her feet finally and firmly planted on the ground, Ariel dusted herself off and walked over to the little group gathered at the door.
DJ..big brother, please don't scare her. At least that was what Ariel had intended to say. It came out "Mhhmb mmg mhmhm mgmhgmmgm mhh..." Due to her journal still being in her mouth. Giggling to herself Ariel removed it and tried again. "Don't' scare her with your pony like that big brother." Ariel put a slight emphasis on the word pony, just her way of teasing DJ's mount. To the blond girl, Ariel flashed one of her sunny smiles. "Hi, I'm Ariel." and then beyond that her eyes focused on Keana. "Hi Keana." Her half sister got a wave too.

Thick, tough, muscley, wall-like horse flesh. This is a description of what Marina had seemed to nearly ram right into. If she hadn't been on frantic-spazzy mode she probably would have fell right on her butt. Instead she Managed to ram into the saddle area and was able to grip ahold of it at the same time with one hand. Firmly planting her feet so as she didn't end up sliding under it or anything. Which would be embarrassing and kind of disgusting depending on if it was a male or not. She focused her eyes on the massive pegasus as her thoughts went 180. 'Great.. Just great.. now the whole curiosity killed the roman saying is starting to make sense..' She thought to herself, stepping back and regaining her balance. She turned around to see if she could possibly run back through the cabin and fling her body out a window but the petite female was now standing there. She grumbled a bit before turning back to the boy who spoke on the horse. "Uh.. no thank you i was just leaving.." she spoke with an affirmitave nod, trying to find a way around the horse before another girl seemed to pop up. 'You take a little stroll into someones' home and they all come running.. she thought to herself and sighed giving up, standing in the center of the mini-circle.
If she really really wanted to, she could have completely taken off. She had a plan already set in her brain incase anything started to get edgy. But she wouldn't set it into motion if this went well. They were afterall her.. "half-siblings" in a.. extremely confusing way. Marina wasn't going to take any chances though, this was her first encounter with any types of greeks. And already it seemed to be going a little weird. She didn't know if they were lethal or disliked Romans or wanted to use her for target practice or give her hugs and kisses like a new toy. All she knew was she was surrounded, and so held tightly on the axis of her longboard- ready for anything to happen. The board had several abilities that no one else really knew about. The first was that it could be a longboard and a surfboard. She could ride the sidewalk or the waves. The second was if she decided to twist the axis of it left- it would turn into her sword. And if she turned it right, into a ring. Describing all the features to someone was just really complicated though, so in turn she just stopped telling people.
The girl with a journal in her mouth seemed to start talking but her words were muffled and incoherent. Finally taking out the journal she said something to the male about his pony and Mari caught his name. DJ. She wondered what it might have stood for, choosing not to think of any too horrible names concidering he was just gaurding his house. It wasn't her place to be, her place was in the Roman Encampment not this nice beautiful... glorious.. scented- STOP IT- focus. she blinked at her thoughts and focused on the girl who spoke. She was given a bright smile and for a moment Mari didn't seem threatened. "Hi.. I'm.." she wondered if it were wise telling them her name. 'You just invaded their dorm you numskull use the brain Lupa gave you.' she coughed and gave Ariel a half-hearted smile to make up for her hesitation, "I'm Marina Jane Fisher, Centurion of the First Cohert and only known daughter of Neptune." she spoke her title proudly, she wasn't sure why she said her entire title. Maybe because she felt being cornered by three possibly-angry poseidon kids made her feel smaller despite her height of 5'10. She didn't want to come off as rude or too soldiery or better-than like some people thought Romans were though and let her proud facade kind of melt. "Or just.. Mari for short.." she smiled and nodded, saying her name in the pronounciation of Mawr-ee.
She caught the other girls' name behind her, Keana and decided to remember all of them. DJ, Keana and Ariel of the Poseidon Residence. Mari realized she was being quite silent and they were all still looking at her. The way DJ had asked her if she needed help earlier was probably directed toward what she was doing here in the first place. She stepped back a bit so that her back wasn't to anyone and she could see them all. "I was on my way to the Roman encampment when i caught a rock in my board and fell in the bushes infront of your dorm," she gestured to the bushes in which still had the Mari-body-print. "and i threw the rock.. and.." she then gestured to the unconcious faun whome was mumbling in his sleep about soda cans and nanny goats.
In truth she didn't really know why she walked into the dorm, it was probably something close to curiousity mixed with demigod instinct/impulse. She had walked two steps and by the time she got there she had to open the door. So instead she decided not to answer until they asked. Which probably would be soon.

A pony! She called me a Pony! The horse seemed to rant through his telepathic link to DJ, which just made DJ smirk and think back at the horse "She could be calling you GLUE, if you don't keep behaving yourslef. So mind your Ps and Qs Elmer,"
ELMER!!! What kind of name is ELMER?!
"It's better than Tin Foil, so shut up and deal with it," DJ slipped off the Horse's side landing lightly on the ground giving the beast a meaningful look. "Sorry about that Elmer here, has be having a major attitude lately so..." DJ shrugged. "So yeah, I'm DJ, and apparently Poseidon's only other son besides Percy Jackson. He lead the horse over to the side of the House were a small out door faucet waited. He filled a bucket of water for Elmer to drink before they headed back to the stables.
"I'm Marina Jane Fisher, Centurion of the First Cohert and only known daughter of Neptune? What a mouthful, I think I'll stick with Sister Mari." he was only try to tease a little bit, he was too tired to get into a battle of wits.
"I take it you've just arrived for the term? We don't see many Romans over here, except for that Riddle girl chasing some owl or something." He lounged against the house feeling more confident then he had in ages, a leader at the school now, especially since Noah had done such a dismal job leading that last quest.
"Hey, we're playing capture the flag tonight, and our 'houses' are on the same team. I...er...won't be able to join you, I managed to pick up a detention from Old Man Sea tonight, well probably for the rest of the week knowing that grouchy old codger. Word to the wise, stay on his good side, he knows how to tailor make detentions just for you, and that Persephone isn't a push over either. But her idea of 'educational discipline' is to turn people into flowers and weeds. Mind you, it's not so bad, unless of course the satyrs are grazing nearby..." He shrugged again, feeling rather content just leaning here against the front of the house shooting the breeze with his sisters, but Elmer wasn't feeling as content.
Come on boss...I wanna go eat some real oats and hay, and apples and and and...
"Oh alright greedy guts," DJ muttered aloud. "I've got to get Elmer back to the stables, I'll be back in about an hour or so. Why don't you three pop inside and make yourselves comfortable, maybe have a lovely pot of tea ready for me when I get back?" He gave the girls a wink and vaulted back on to the horse galloping back the direction he had come from.
