After weeks of intensive labor he was finally nearing completion on his project. It wasn't exactly an "on the books project," he didn't want anyone finding out about it and spoiling the surprise. He couldn't wait to see the look on Keller's face when he handed him this gift. Lee smiled to himself as he worked on the final stitches. It had taken a lot of research and experimental work in order to get everything just right to get the special features to work properly. He held up the handcrafted quiver examining it from ever angle, looking for flaws, working on a few here and there.
It was truly a unique, and rather remarkable piece of work. More often than not, magic type weapons and armor were crafted by the gods, or more specifically Lee's dad Hephaestus, but this time Lee was able to find the reference materials he needed to make the quiver do all it needed to.
It had to be able to transform into a belt, so it could be carried around all of the time, then it had to carry an infinite supply of arrows. That had been the most difficult part of the project, but once he procured one of the Huntress' quivers to examine, the fabrication had been fairly easy. He had to invent a few new ways to do things, but in the end he was extremely pleased with the way it had turned out.
Once he had the base quiver and arrows figured out and shifting between it's various modes, he set about using his jewelry making skills to embellish the simple quiver to something more fitting for a demigod son of the archery god. He tastefully decorated it with real gold and silver figures of Apollo, bows arrows and the sun chariot.
Satisfied he had done everything he could, and made it as perfectly as he could, he switched it into belt mode, tossing it over his shoulder he headed out towards the woods, his mind distracted with eager excitement.
He was so used to handing out jewelry to random girls, and not really caring what their reactions were, this eagerness to please someone with his work...his gift for them...was completely foreign and unsettling to him, but at the same time strangely thrilling.
He wandered out to the small secluded spot that he and Keller had pretty much claimed as their own. They had set up some fallen logs as benched, and an old hollowed out tree stump as place to store their baggies of powder, bottles of nectar, and alcohol to keep from getting busted by the Residence Leaders and Staff.
He sat down in his favorite spot lounging back against one of the log benches, just enjoying the peace and solitude for a few moments. He never could have found anything like this at camp, there were always people roaming around everywhere. Here, most people were in classes or studying. Lee was lucky in that he was pretty far ahead in his work at the forge, that he a lot more free time. It was nice to be able to have free time to come here and do all sorts of stuff with Keller.
Lee closed his eyes smiling contentedly remembering their last little rendezvous. Gods that had been hot, any hotter and they would have set the whole Academy on fire. Gods, his strong hands, that body and those eyes...mmm...[/color] Lee thought dreamily, almost lost in the memory for a moment, brought back to reality as the gentle breeze carried the unmistakable scent of Keller's cologne. He opened his eyes lazily.
"Hey there sexy, I got a little somethin' somethin' for you," Lee grinned wickedly as he pulled Keller down next to him. "No it's not that...well it is, but that's not the only thing I've got for you," He beamed as he handed Keller the belt-quiver. "I know that you've got that killer longbow-watch, but no real quiver to supply it, and that just is just unacceptable. So, I decided to come up with something like this," Lee reached over into Keller's lap with a sly smile, then tapped the belt buckle lightly three times and it morphed into a fully equipped quiver. "It took some doing but this f*cker is damn near indestructible, and light as can be. And you don't wanna know the things I had to do to figure out how to keep it full of arrows at all times..." Lee shrugged watching Keller's reaction with an anxious knot in his stomach, hoping Keller would like it.
