Personality: Emma is shy. It is a stone cold fact. She is usually able to bypass the obstacle if she feels outgoing one day or she simply wants to meet new friends or if she is, or she sees someone else, in need of help. That leads to another one of her traits. She tends to play the typical hero role, which she hates about herself, but she can never leave somebody behind if there in danger. When she does go to save somebody, she usually has a plan of action; whether it be sloppy and not thought through thoroughly, or a solid plan of action. Her plans usually coincide with her observing skills, even though she does tend to daydream, she is still able to make progress in the area.
Once you get past Emma's shy exterior, you'll see that she can sometimes be loud and over-dramatic. When I say over-dramatic I don't mean it in a drama queen-ish way, more of the friend who makes the stupid corny jokes that come out of nowhere.
Just like everyone else, Emma has her ups and downs on the emotional roller coaster. One day she might be loud and outgoing, and another she'll be sitting by the lake and reading a book. If you were to cross Emma, you should be ready to face her wrath, or if she was feeling good that day, you should feel lucky.
Determined. Emma is just that. She likes to pursue whatever it is she wants, and make it through her obstacles hoping for the best. Think of it has thinking of the glass half full.
History: Luke sat on one of the benches in the quad, taking full advantage of the warm air, grading some papers of his students. Marking a paper in red pen, he put a side comment in the margin about his student’s sentences, ‘It would be better if you transitioned this sentence to the next. You kind of just go into the next subject, and if you took my suggestion your essay would flow better.’
Hearing someone sit next to him on the bench, he looked up expecting to see one of his student’s; instead, he saw a beautiful woman. Smiling courteously, he offered the lady his hand, and asked kindly, “Nice day to be outside, right?” The lady shook his hand, and he continued, feeling as if he wasn’t going to be ignored, “The name’s Luke,” he said. The lady turned her dazzling grey eyes to his green ones, and replied in a sing-song, yet strong, voice, “My name is Athena.”
The two had talked the day away. It was ridiculous how much someone could go on about war strategies. It didn’t seem so ridiculous for Athena, seeing as she was the goddess of strategy, among other things; but a mortal man who was only a history professor was able to keep up with the woman, countering her statements and adding more to them.
Their conversation started their very short one week relationship. He remembered the day she went away, a day after he had bed her. Her leaving had caused him heartbreak, even though he had just met her, but he adjusted and molded his ways to seem as normal as he once was. So imagine the surprise when she came back with a daughter, his daughter, a demigod.
Knowing that he wanted to have his daughter as long as he could, Luke kept her in the dark about gods and goddesses, monsters, and Half Blood Academy. He was kind of relieved when the satyr came, or else he probably would have waited until Athena had claimed Emma.
Emma grew up taking self defense. Her dad had said that it would give her something to put her energy in to, and that it might come in handy. She grew up living with her dad, constantly wondering where her mother was, and since she never had the guts to bring it up, she never found put until she got to Half Blood Academy. She always got made fun of at school because 'she couldn't read words' or 'stay still,' but she would sometimes get her revenge. Her favorite class had to have been P.E. Because there were no words that she could misread, and she knew that she was way faster than the other kids in her class.
Emma ends up going to Half Blood Academy, but while she's there in her first year her dad passes away. She had been devastated and had taken to being by herself or by the lake, reading. Knowing that she couldn't just drown in her sorrow, she put her feelings into sword fighting, and she learned to love it, even though at first she had been terrible at it.
About two months after she had gotten to the Academy, and she was a few months away from her thirteenth birthday, she saw everyone pointing at a spot above her head. Emma had looked up to see an owl in a circle above her head. It was quite puzzling, but it was cleared up once she was moved out of the undetermined cabin and into the Athena one.
Emma continued to live her life as normally as she can, having to be the daughter of a goddess, and having no father.
Abilities: A good strategist, and even tough she is clumsy, once she gets a sword into her hands her feet are almost dancing and not tripping
Weaknesses: Too self-sacrificing, clumsy

English. Why was it needed again? Everybody already spoke it, so was it really necessary to have to learn more about it? Sighing, Emma glanced at the clock, only to let out a groan. Thirty more minutes of torture. Turning her gaze back to the board, she tried to wrap her head around what Mrs. Johnson was talking about, only to get confused when letters mixed and flipped. Feeling a pain start to make it's way into her head, she stopped trying to get the letters to look the way they were supposed to be. She sent her teacher a glare, which went unnoticed by everyone but herself. It would probably be easier to understand English class, if her English teacher actually tried to help her once and awhile. She let her mind wander to the time she had rose her hand the whole class period to ask a question, only to be ignored, even after she had cleared her throat five times and called her teacher's name out more than a couple times.
Hearing the shrill ring of the final bell, Emma came out of her thoughts and grinned. It was a wonder how much time could pass if you daydreamed. Walking out of the classroom, she let out a dramatic sigh of relief, and received a few well deserved weird looks. Sending them big smiles, the twelve year old headed for her house and away from the middle school.
As she got nearer and nearer to where her house was, she heard a couple of hooves clomping her way. Not thinking anything of it, she continued to her destination. Only when she had turned two corners and the mysterious hooves continued to sound behind her, did she start to get paranoid. Thinking through possible ways to evade the hooves, she continued to walk as casually as one could when feeling as if they were being followed, by a hoofed something nonetheless. A picture popped into her mind of a woman escaping the bad guy on the street. It was from a movie, but at the moment she couldn't think of what it was called. Even though she didn't remember the movie, she vaguely remembered the lady breaking into a sprint as soon as she had been separated from the man by a big crowd. Surveying her surroundings, she saw no big crowds, only a deserted street, besides the occasional taxi, with many dark alleyways. “Just my luck,” she muttered to herself. If she couldn't use crowds, maybe she could use something else to lose whoever was behind her. A plan came to her as if someone had flicked on a light switch. She could use the alleyways to her advantage.
Continuing to stroll casually, she turned the corner, and booked it for the other side. Coming out of the other side of the alley, Emma put her back against the wall to the right of the alleyway, hoping that the darkness would cover her from the view of whoever was following her. Hearing the hooves clacking against the cement, she held her breath waiting for her chance to strike. As soon as she saw a figure make its' way into the light, her defense lessons came into play, as she grabbed the figures arm and slammed it into the wall. Hearing the figure groan, she opened her mouth to apologize only to close it angrily when she remembered that there was a reason the figure was groaning in pain. “Have you been following me?” she asked angrily, as she kept her grip on her follower's arm. “Yes, but it's for a very important reason,” the figure replied and she could tell that the figure was a guy by it's deep voice. She snorted, and asked sarcastically, “Oh, and what would that be?” The guy replied, “Well, how to lay this down easily? Um, you’re a demigod.”
Those were the words that started her new life.
