After the many years at the camp, Alexa could feel it, the change that was in the air. After the message that she had received from her mother, she had sort of excluded herself from everyone else at the camp, even those that were in her own cabin. She would lay in her bed at night for hours just staring at the ceiling. What did her mother mean? But she guessed that she was never to find out seeing as her mother didn't elaborate and she wasn't about to tell anyone what her mother had said, for fear that it was something really bad. Alexa sat up and let her legs just dangle over the bedside, she looked down at her feet, which were small and smooth, but she seemed to be staring at them with a strange curiosity. She picked her foot up, there on the side of her ankle was a small half of what looked like a sun. She didn't remember seeing that as a child, but recently it had been coming in more and more. Now it looked as if she had a tattoo. She sighed and shook her head letting her foot go and standing up.
"What is going on with me?" She whispered to herself as she opened her dresser drawers. She pulled off her pajamas and pulled on a black camisole with lace on the bottom, some black underwear,a pair of her purple skinny jeans, her sunshine shirt and to top it off, a hoodie that said "I've got brain power, you?". It was a rather lame hoodie in her mind, but it was sent by her father a while back. She didn't respond to him at all. To her, he was dead. She quickly got on her boots and then looked around the room, it was dead quiet because everyone else was still soundly asleep. She went back to her bed and sat there thinking. Then she heard it, the small noise that she had been hearing for days. What the heck was it? She looked around the cabin, then saw it. It was a small little snowy owl. She blinked, not sure what to make of it, but on the side it said[
i]"For my dearest Alexa, may you take your flight."[/i] it didn't really say from who it was, but she didn't care. She took it out and held it softly in her arms. "What should I call you?" she asked it. " How about..Cecily? Nah...to snobby for you...okay I shall call you Raine." she said. The bird chirped some more and she looked around the room, wondering what to get her. She saw a dead mouse and got it and held it for Raine to eat. She watched in pure fascination. Then it chirped happily and loudly, she remembered where she was and looked around, hoping, praying it didn't wake anyone up.

Railee tossed and turned, in the clutches of an unpleasant dream. Images of gangsters taking over the world wasn't exactly pleasant to her. The sound of an owl chirping gleefully and loudly freed her from the dreams, and she jerked up in a cold sweat. She lealized that maybe her owl could have made the chirp. Oh, he was going to get it now. Holy gift from Mother or not. Rubbing her eyes, she started turning towards the owl stand by her bed.
"Odysseus..." she whispered in a reprimanding voice. As she finished her slight turn though, she noticed that no owl was on the perch. If it wasn't her owl, then there must be some other daughter of Athena who had an untrained owl. If Odysseus wasn't on the perch, he must be out hunting. Slowly she swung her legs out from under the covers, placing them on the floor. A quick glance of the room revealed to her that almost all her half-siblings were sleeping rather soundly. Except one. She was a few steps from an empty bunk, a snowy owl in her arms. Railee thought her name was Alexa, but she wasn't certain.
Railee didn't want to confront the girl wearing her pajamas though. Gray with little owl cartoons all over them, they were not the kind of thing you confronted someone in. They were the sort of things that if your mother's symbol wasn't the owl, would get you laughed out of your cabin. They weren't intimidating at all. That, and the other girl was wearing normal clothes. Another factor against her. But without any other options, Railee slipped her feet into a pair of slippers by her bed with a sigh and walked over.
"Alexa, right?" She said quietly, trying not to disturb the sleep of any other students. "New owl from Mother?" Of course at that moment Odysseus chose that moment to return. His speeding splotchy white and brown feathered form quickly changed direction from his trajectory of the perch to Railee's shoulder, landing softly. His claws didn't pierce any clothing, but only put a slight pressure so he could stay aloft.
He quietly chirped in her ear so that none of the other children of Athena could hear. "Never seen that owl before. New here?" Trust Odysseus to be so perky so late at night. Railee barely restrained the urge to push him to the floor. That would just make him dig his claws in. And she didn't want to be cleaning up blood when she should be sleeping.
Railee just gave him a quick reprimand to him and turned back to Alexa. "Sorry about the interruption. Anyway, new owl?"

Alexa turned around at the sound of another voice, what she saw struck her silent. It was like she was looking in a mirror, except..the girl had blond hair. But IT was her face, that was for sure. After a few moments of being silent she simply nodded her head, entranced by the fact that there was another girl who looked exactly like her. "Um..Yea..I'm Alexa..and this is Raine, I just got her today..I don't know if its from mother, I guess it is." She smiled and giggled a bit. "So umm, can I ask you a question? Who are you and why do you have my face?" she asked. Raine perched on her shoulder and whispered into her ear "Isn't it obvious? She's your twin sister.." Alexa looked at the bird, that wasn't possible at all. Her father told her that she was an only child, though that did answer Athena's riddle. Alexa turned back towards Railee. " Are you my twin?" she asked reaching out and poking her.
Rude as it seemed to poke and prod Railee, Alexa couldn't help it. She was so enthralled by the fact that this girl in front of her was exactly like her. Alexa circled around the girl and looked her over, even her ass looked like hers, well she couldn't make it out for sure because there was no way she was gonna tell the girl to pull down her underwear. "Wow, you definetly look like me, do you have this on your ankle though?"She held up her ankle and showed the half sun. "I just found it today, but it would probably be on you if you are my twin sister." She couldn't help but smile.

After a few moments of shock, Railee felt Alexa poking her and inspecting her. She was suitably disturbed at this. I mean, the girl did look exactly like Railee. But so quickly saying that they were twins was absurd! Wasn't it? Railee wasn't so sure now. After all, they were both daughters of Athena. Railee sort of jumped when asked about the sun though. It seemed to her to be a completely random question.
She was about to tell Alexa to calm down for a second when she felt and odd pressure on her ankle. Distracted, Railee lifted her pajama leg to look at it. For a second it looked like her ankle was fine. But after a few moments, a spot started to change colors. Her leg was glowing! A shape was forming out of the mass of light, very slowly. It was a shape identical to the weird mark on Alexa's leg! Odysseus began to chirp and hop up and down excitedly on her shoulder.
"I was so doubting, but Lady Athena told me to watch for this. She said it was true. I should never have doubted her." Odysseus muttered, clearly very exited.
"What's going on? What the heck?" Railee began muttering, gently petting Odysseus to try and calm him down. Glancing up at Alexa, she continued. "What's your last name? If we don't have the same last name, none of this can be true. This could all be some huge mix up. Sure, we look exactly the same but with different hair color, and we're both children of Athena..." Railee tapered off, knowing that she was just making excuses.
Of course, she was nervous about all this. Who wouldn't be? Finding out that you were twin with someone else who was also a child of a god. That little statement made that fact that Railee was the child of a god all the clearer in her mind. Railee had never quite believed it. In the back of her mind, she had always thought that this might be a dream. It had never been at the front of her mind. She had never really been concerned that these people were all crazy. But the doubt had always been there, wiggling in the back of her mind.
Who could completely accept they were the child of the god when they couldn't really do anything very special? So many other kids at the academy had huge, fantastic powers. Railee had always just been a little smarter, a little more quick to figure out problems. That could just be luck right? But know, Railee was dead certain. She had no way to argue. Until this moment though, she hadn't even realized the doubt was there! Finding out she almost certainly had a twin had made her realize and crush this doubt.
With a huge amount of hesitance, she staggered out the words that would either confirm of crush this entire thing. "Are.. are.. are you 16 and your last name is Blackwell?"

Alexa merely nodded her head at the question. "Yes, I'm Alexa Blackwell...My father raised me until I was a younging and I ran off because he chose to get remarried and everything. Then one day I came across a monster and well I beat it up but barley and I came to live here. How did you come to be here?" She pondered and looked around the room. So this was the two intertwined huh? She couldn't have been a bit more clear could she? But just then Raine chirpped happily " I am to tell the both of you that you are indeed Athena's twins. Railee you were separated at birth in order to protect not only you but Richard. Your mother thought that it was high time you two met."
Alexa just stared at her bird dumbfounded. All these years, all this time, and she had a twin sister? Someone who she could really relate to? " I hope you and I can catch up and everything. I mean..I would love to get to know you more and to know your story and everything about you. This is a lot for me to take in, especially since it is in the middle of the night after all. But tell you what Railee, Why don't we start talking now, then when we get tired, we can just go to bed, because right now, I'm to giddy to even think about sleep." she said with a giggle.
She didn't know why she was this way, but wouldn't anybody be if they had just found out they had a long lost twin? But what she didn't understand was why her mother waited this long to show her Railee. That she didn't like at all. In fact..She down right hated it. "I can't believe she waited this long to introduce us to each other..I wonder who was born first..." she said

Raille just stood there puzzled for a few seconds. A twin sister... Why hadn't Athena told them when they were claimed? She had been at Camp Half-Blood when she turned thirteen, and was pretty sure Alexa must have been too. The Acadamy hadn't been opened quite yet back then.
Suddenly Odysseus began chirping and saying that it was right, how he had never quite believed it, and a bunch of other stuff like that. Railee just gave him a venomous look and he quieted instantly.
Then Alexa said she wondered who had been born first, and Odysseus took another breath to begin his chirping rant again. Quickly Raille closed his beak with her hand and gestured towards the grass just outside the cabin.
"We should probably go outside so we don't wake anyone up." Railee said in an urgent whisper. "I don't want to get in trouble with anyone on the heels of such a big discover."
After walking outside, Railee sat down cross-legged on the grass and began to talk again, in a louder voice since she didn't have to worry about anyone waking up now.
"You were probably born first. Otherwise you wouldn't have been sent to Dad first. Mom must have wanted to protect him once she had me, since two demigod children in one house would definitely attract a lot of monsters. So I was sent to an orphanage..." Raille trailed off with a sniffle, then gulped and continued. "and Mom abandoned me to run in circles around mid-Europe for seven years." At this Railee began clawing at the ground, then closed her fists and bowed her head. " I know though that she took an oath not to interfere directly in our lives."
Odysseus hopped to Railee's lap from he shoulder and began to rub his head in her neck to comfort her. He had been there the day she arrived at camp, and Railee had told her everything. Odysseus knew how hard it was for Railee to talk about her years before camp and the academy. He wanted to help her through the telling of the story. He had known about Alexa, but had begun to doubt after hearing the entirety of Railee's story. Now he had no reason to doubt though, and so wanted to help her through this.

Alexa looked at the girl before her and her owl. She could almost feel the pain that was radiating off of the poor thing. "spank me hard, I know what she did was to protect us and all, but that was all in the past, everything that had happened to you, is gone. We have one another now. You and I will forever and always be tight, don't you worry about that hun." She felt a sense of calm come over her and she found herself hugging her twin. " I love you, and I will always love you. I knew that from the moment I laid my eyes on you. I knew that we were meant to be a team, and so we shall." Alexa didn't know what really else to say, here they were outside, in the middle of the night no less, and hugging. She could only imagine if November saw this. After all she was sure that the titan did have a crush on her.
"So can I tell you something? This girl, she's a titan, and she's really sweet, I count her as one of my friends and all..but I think she expects more from me. I don't know what to do because well, I like her and all but, not like that. I'm at a loss of what to do with her, and I really don't want to hurt her and everything because she really is a sweety. What do you think I should do?" she asked. Now that she found her sister, she wanted to share everything with her, including her problems.
Raine hopped over to Railee's lap and looked at Odysseus. She looked as if she were about to say something but then decided not to. Raine then hopped back over to Alexa and nestled herself in her neck. Alexa smiled, Raine really was just the cutest owl, and Odysseus was a sure to be handsome one. Alexa saw the look in Raine's eyes " OOO Raine has a crusshh." she said. Raine's eyes got wider and she chirpped eagerly away " You hush up you silly girl, you don't know anything that you are talking about. I do not have a so called crush on a barn owl." She bristled her wings up and puffed out. Alexa laughed and giggled.

Railee sat on the grass, dew collecting on her clothes, as she tried to hold back tears. Odysseus was cuddling with her, which helped her control her emotions. She didn't want to cry about the past anymore. She wanted to look forward, to the future, or just live in the present. There was no time to worry about things that couldn't be changed.
Railee felt arms around her, and looking up she found Aleza hugging her. "I love you, and I will always love you. I knew that from the moment I laid my eyes on you. I knew that we were meant to be a team, and so we shall." She had said something else, but Railee hadn't heard. Odysseus gave a surprised chirp as he was squished between the twins as Railee hugged her newly found sister back.
Suddenly Alexa leaned back and began talking about a friend of hers and the problem. Railee nodded after hearing. For some reason, Railee wasn't surprised Alexa trusted her so quickly. It just seemed right. Like something that should have been there long before. Pondering for a second, Railee replied.
"Well, wait until she admits she likes you. Then tell her that you just want to be friends. Try to be gentle, not to violent or gruff about it. Being gentle will be better, especially on what must be a touchy subject for her. She might be unhappy for a few days, but she'll come around." Railee pet her sister on the back and decided to emphasize one point. "Make sure she tells you she likes you first though. If you just say you know she likes you and you just want to be friends, and she doesn't like you, that would be very bad."
Raine hopped over to Railee's lap and she pet the bird gently, right before it hopped back onto Alexa's shoulder. Suddenly Alexa's eyes got wide and she said Raine indignantly puffed up. Railee laughed with Alexa, even Odysseus giving a light hearted chuckle that only Railee could hear. Odysseus thought Raine would make a good companion, a younger owl would definitely liven things up around the acadamy.
Railee smiled at the barn owl on her lap and ruffled the brown and white feathers on the top of his head.
"Glad to have a companion?" she asked, amused at the discomfort now that it had finally gotten through to Odysseus that the young Raine had a crush on him. Embarrassed, he replied.
"Yes, I needed someone to bring some more life around here." Railee gave a short giggle then looked back up to Alexa.
"What kinds of things do you like to do? Since we're twins, we really should get to know each other better." Railee said, brushing a loose strand of blond hair from her face.

Alexa didn't know what to say at first. There was so much she could tell to Railee but she didn't know if any of that stuff would seem cool. She didn't want to bore her sister like she had done to so many other students at the camp site. She sighed and looked around. She could tell her the normal stuff, just so they could get started and all. There was no harm in telling her her favorite food and color was there? Then Alexa realized, she didn't have a favorite, food, only a non favorite food. She thought long and hard before she answered.
"Well, I like practically everything to eat, but fish, I despise eating fish. I love to read, and I sometimes write my own stories and even my own song lyrics. I always thought that it was the better thing to do and all. I do like math, though, which is odd because when I was younger I hateddddd math. What about you?" Alexa asked as she watched Raine jumping around, since she had given her new owls secret away, Raine hadn't really been to well happy. Raine wasn't really crushing on Odysseus. She was just glad that someone around here was an owl.
Raine looked at him, did he think she had a crush on him? Well she'd set him straight. " Just for the record," she chirped " I do not have a crush on you. I just am glad that I can finally hang out with another owl such as yourself. But that doesn't mean that I am in anyway infatuated with you." She huffed and puffed and she flew back to Alexa and perched on the top of her shoulder. There that would show him that she meant business.
Alexa looked at her owl. " Raine, you ought to apologize. I'm sure that Odysseus didn't think you had a crush on him at all. I bet he was just looking for a friend like he said. Besides even if you did like him that way, I wouldn't let you two together for a second, he's much to old for you. I can't have my baby being hounded by a man now can I?" she said

Railee smiled after hearing what Alexa liked. They had some things in common! That was a relief to her. She had doubted at first that they would be similar past appearances, but being kids of Athena apparently didn't give them too many options on what their interests were.
"You love to read? I love to read too! That's a relief. I also like music, although I'm the listening type, compared to the composing type." Railee said, absently petting Odysseus, who had decided to cuddle down on her lap. He gave a soft hoot of pleasure, content to sit their for a while longer, even though a lap wasn't the most comfortable place for an owl. Especially for a restless one like Odysseus.
Raine began to set Odysseus straight about the crush, but Alexa interrupted, telling her to apologize.
"No, no. It's quite all right. We made a joke at her expense she can be fully truthful. In fact, I apologize Raine, for being shallow. It will be fun to have another owl around here." Odysseus flapped his way up to Railee's shoulder and bowed his head, to fully show his apology.
Railee, giggling quite a bit, managed to choke out a few words. "That's the most polite I've seen him in a while for such a mundane thing." After a couple seconds she stifled her giggles, patting Odysseus to show she was only kidding. Odysseus gave an indignant hoot, but it had laughter behind it, and wasn't serious. Odysseus didn't mind jokes at his expense, as long it wasn't too insulting. And as long as it didn't also include Athena in some way. If it included Athena, Odysseus would be very angry, and would start clawing if Railee wasn't near to give him a warning.
"What kinds of things do you like to train in?" Railee said, suddenly curious. "I like archery, especially when we get to do it in capture the flag." She loved capture the flag, especially defense. She would climb a tree, and snipe everyone who came near the flag. Her aim was close to some of the Apollo kids! Usually the ones who didn't have full control over their aiming abilities, but still.
