It was just a few hours before dawn when the dream came, not that Nicky could explain anything he had learned from it, he just knew what he had to do and that was it. He debated what all he would take with him, knowing that if he packed something, chances where it would never leave his backpack while he was there, that was just one of the side effects of the Lotus Hotel and Casino, Orion had shared that much of his experiences with him.
The Hermes boy had also shared stories of one of Nicky's half brothers, who was also preforming at the Casino, though no where near as long as Orion had, but he couldn't be 100% sure of that. Orion didn't know what had brought the other boy to the Lotus, not that he really understood what was going on at the time, Orion was just a born performer, so that's what he had done, performed.
Nicky knew all of this, but still felt a bit apprehensive about the whole arrangement, but he also knew better than to question his Father's judgment, not that Apollo would force his son to do anything against his will or anything.
"I guess that's it, time to go catch our ride Remus," Nicky whispered to the wolf shouldering his pack and sneaking out quieter than any mouse could. The pair made their way to the very eastern edge of the school's boundaries and waited for the dawn. It wasn't a long wait, or even an uncomfortable one, before the brilliant red sports car that was Apollo's sun chariot screeched to a halt a few feet from where they sat.
"Hey kiddo, you ready to do this? This ride only goes one way, but it'll get you there." Apollo said leaning against the front fender of the car.
"Hey dad. I guess we're as ready as we can get. Can Remus ride with us?"
"Sorry kiddo, he wouldn't be able to stand the journey," Nicky nodded solemnly, he had guessed as much.
"I guess I'll just have Andee take care of him for me..."
"Well, I actually have plans for him, your brother will need some help getting used to things again, but I wouldn't have Andee thinking i stole her twin from her," he snapped his fingers and little wolf pup appeared. "You can't have a Remus, without a Romulus." He smiled at the wolves communicating with them on a level even Nicky couldn't pick up on. Remus got up and gave Nicky a quick lick across the cheek, then picked up Romulus by the scruff of the neck and trotted off back to the Apollo Cabin.
Nicky tried to laugh a little to keep himself from crying, especially in front of his father. "Here" Nicky looked up just in time to catch a set of golden keys, he looked at his father utterly confused.
"You drive, I'll be with you, so we'll be just fine. If nothing else you'll be better that Thalia Grace was, you are my son after all," Nicky's eyes were as large as the Sun itself as he slid into the driver seat scared stupid, but at the same time Apollo's presence seemed to easy his anxiety. Before he knew it, he was driving the blazing sports car right into the sky. Nicky grinned at his father, only to get a gentle reminder to "watch the road" and they were off on the greatest adventure of Nicky's life.

Nicky couldn't remember a time in his life he had ever been so happy. The last time he and Apollo had a one on one, Nicky was mad with grief over the loss of his much loved brother. This time it was like having his favorite brother, his best friend and his father all rolled into one. With some careful coaching Nicky parked the Sun Chariot on the roof of the Lotus perfectly.
"I can't stay parked here too long, It would be really bad if I burned the place down." He put an arm around Nicky's shoulder walking him to a door. "You know why we can never talk of this, and why as soon as you go through that door you'll forget why your here, just as your brother did, but I won't forget. I won't forget your love for your brothers and sisters, and I will see that you are rewarded when the time comes." Apollo opened the door and Nicky stepped through coming face to face with a boy a bit older than himself, and drop dead gorgeous.
"If only you weren't my brother," Nicky commented utterly at ease. "Dad's waiting, have fun and take care of the family for me," he stood on tip toes and kissed his brother's cheek then walked down the stairs into a blissful oblivion.
