Lets Get More Personal

Dislikes: Being interrupted, Writer's block, Being forced to read, misplacing things, extended conversations
Personality:As a daughter of the Muse, Euterpe, Adahlia has a keen ear for music. she also seems to possess some talents from the other Muses but not as strong. Such as she has absolutely no traits inherited from her Aunt Terpsichore and her other Aunt Thalia, the muses of dance and comedy. She is most similar to the muses Euterpe, Clio, Calliope, and Melpomene. The muses of music, history, epic poetry and tragedy. Due to this she has a photographic memory and a keen eye and ear for poetry and music. The only downfall to these gifts are the constant jabber of memories and music that can spin vigorously around in her head. This causes her to her severe mental breakdowns and anger management problems. Other than that she is usually a quiet introverted girl who talks to no one but herself. she has no friends and no need of them. She plays the violin and Aulos, which is a flute type of instrument. Her constant debates with her teacher has gotten her kicked out of schools for the past 4 years. Her words will sometimes come out jumbled up due to the constant jabber of memories in her head.
History: Her father Robert Marx was a musician at the New York Philharmonic and also works part-time as a busboy at a nearby restaurant. After a session of rehearsal at the Philharmonic he met Euterpe. they exchanged many conversations and eventually they parted. The next day a bundle had arrived on his doorstep with a single note,"Take care of her!" As you may have deduced she is what may be known as a brain child, similar to the children of Athena. Euterpe sent Adahlia gifts on her birthdays such as one her 5th birthday she had sent her a writing tablet that matched Calliope's. On her 8th birthday she sent her an Aulos to learn how to play. Then on her 10th birthday she had sent her a tragedy mask from her sister Melpomene. Adahlia treasured all these gifts whom her dad said were from her cousins in Germany.
One day when she had come home from a particularly bad day from school she had found one of the muses sitting in her dining room talking with her dad. When the muse turned around she had introduced herself as the muse of music and her mom, Euterpe. At first Adahlia thought that this was some kind of sick joke played by her father until she saw the similarities between her mom and her. The same round but pointed face, the same hair and facial expression. accepting the reality of the Greek gods being alive was the first step. The second, much more difficult, move was to get her to go to Half-Blood Academy. Eventually they had coaxed her into going after one mental down and two misunderstandings. With a few other gifts from the muse she was all set to go.
Abilities: The ability to learn most musical instruments and the ability to implant ideas in to people's minds.
Weaknesses: Gets stressed and frustrated easily, she takes everything very seriously, and has a fear of enclosed spaces., also has bouts of depression or extreme anger.
Other Information:She has her own versions of the Muses emblems. (compass, Aulos, Cithara, writing tablet, lyre, some Greek scrolls, comedy and tragedy masks, and a veil/cloak) She also has a dream journal. The comedy mask turns into a sword and the Tragedy mask a shield although she hasn't quite figured out how to do this yet.
Sample post: Kicking a small tin can down the deserted New York City street Adahlia made her way down to her dad's apartment. The black clouds of an imminent thunderstorm swirled ahead and she dragged her feet on wards. How was she going to tell her dad about the argument she had had with her teacher today? Maybe he would take her side today? Perhaps not. Pushing the button for floor 16 she felt the building shake with the slight rumble of thunder. Unlocking the door she found a woman sitting at the table talking with her dad in an urgent tone of voice. The woman was dress in a floor length white dress and her black curly hair piled up in a bun atop her head. Loudly dropping her book bag to the ground she rudely asked the first thing on her mind, "Who are you and what are you doing in my kitchen?" The lady silently stood up and said,"I am Euterpe and I have to tell you something quite imperative." Looking up to make eye contact with the tall woman Adahlia said,"Look if your here to kick me out of another school spit it out already." Euterpe chuckled and said,"My dear, I am the Greek muse of music and you are my daughter." Laughing spitefully Adahlia remarked, "Yes! And I'm Kronos, Titan of Time nice to meet you." Outside another deep rumble of thunder shook the tiny apartment. The lady looked stern and said,"I name thee, Adahlia Marx, daughter of music and the giver of delight, I name thee my daughter!" Above her head a orb which displayed an Aulos glowed ominously above her. Trying to swipe to glowing object away Adahlia said,"Dad, what haven't you been telling me?"
Her father stood up looking tired and weary,"A lot I haven't told, Adahlia, I was afraid you weren't ready to hear the truth. The truth is that the Greek gods exist and they father or mother many children with mortals. These mortals are Demigods or rather half Greek entity and half mortal." he said. Trying to process everything Adahlia sort of had a moment. Her mind flashed back to first grade when she had sworn she had seen a tree turn into a woman or in sixth grade when she was expelled due to her calling a teacher "Snake Lady" and then getting into a heated debate on the fact that she had sworn she had seen a forked tongue flicker out out her teachers mother. Maybe this lady was right. If the Greek gods existed it would explain her insanity at least. Coming out of her flashbacks she could still hear the voices whispering to her. Waking up she saw that she had retreated into the corner of the kitchen subconsciously again. She frequently had fits like this where she wake snap out of a daydream and find herself screaming in side of a shelving unit. Disentangling her self from the pots and pans she stood up her throat sore from whatever things she had yelled during her recent fit. Walking back over to her parents she said,"Sorry you had to see that 'mom'." looking to see her "mom's" reaction she tilted her head curiously. "Now worries Clio goes through fits like that all the time. With the history she has to remember it's never pretty." said Euterpe. "Now I must talk to you about your enrollment at Half-blood academy." "MY WHAT?" Adahlia yelled in shock. Not only was she going to have to accept the fact that she had a mom and that th Greek gods were alive and chilling she was going to switch schools. Starting to protest, Adahlia just gave up. If all this craziness was happening then it must be one of her crazy dreams. Consenting Adahlia went to go pack her belongings. The tragedy mask, her journal, some clothes, her violin and Aulos, and the old writing tablet. Giving a small good-bye to her father she left the apartment with the lady who not only claimed to be her mom but also a mythological creature.
Just to say the ride in the elevator was an awkward one as Euterpe finally saw the Aulos case that Adahlia held. questioning her on whether she had learned to play it Adahlia replied with a small nod. Once the elevator reached the bottom the Muse turned to her and said,"I have a few more gifts for you if you don't mind." Wlaking to the car that had been parked she bestowed upon Adahlia gifts from the other muses. A comedy mask , compass, lyre, Cithara, and a cloak. Placing her luggage in the car Adahlia looked back at her mom. "What would I call myself since i am half mortal- half muse?" "You are a half-monster." Confused and puzzled Adahlia asked,"What, then makes a muse dangerous?" Turning solemnly around Euterpe said,"Have you ever had an ideas so strong and so vivid or a thought that drives you insane until you can't take it? That is what a muse can do." Motioning for Adahlia to get into the car they drove off towards Half-Blood Academy.
