Personality: John is a generally nice person. He's not someone who will be quick to anger, or come down on you for the smallest mistake. He just wants you to not make the same mistake twice. If you do, that's when the grumbling starts. And you will know if he's grumbling, as it will be in his normal talking voice, not muttered venomously under his breath. He doesn't yell, since he knows some people just honestly either don't know what they're doing wrong or that they can't do better than they already are. If he knows you're just slacking, you will probably have something unpleasant in your clothes or on your bed later. He will not tolerate slacking.
The issue with Jonathan is he thinks he knows best unless it's his intellect against a very old being. Other demititans, demigods, and demimonsters he thinks should listen to him. he has enough plans that work to continue cultivating that belief. Oddly, he doesn't want to lead though. He hates being the figure head. He wants to be the controlling power behind the scenes, just like his dad.
He is also extremely protective of his heritage. Not the Titans, just Prometheus. He knows that the Titans were trying to destroy everything he knows. He knows that his father was among the ones who fought against the gods. But he couldn't resent him. His only constant companion, his father gave to him. His father tried to protect him and his mother. His mind won't process that Prometheus was so hugely evil. Which he wasn't. Quite. Prometheus just chose the wrong side, the side that had all the advantages. The side that lost.
Jonathan may be the child of a titan, but he has no hate of the gods or demigods. They've been helping him train and live, even if indirectly in the god's case. They are the greater beings who have control, control of the world. They haven't done anything very bad to him other than a few minor curses and children that always glare at him. He doesn't mind, at least not enough to make a difference on his actions. During the events of curses he gets angry, but he cools off quickly. He's not the type to hold a grudge for the inconvenience of a few minutes.
John is smart, but he's definitely not the silent and brooding smart. He will tell you what he thinks. If you talk to him, he'll maintain his end of the conversation. If he's reading, he'll generally put down his book and give you his full attention. (Assuming that the book isn't something awfully important.) He won't go out of his way to create a conversation unless the situation calls for it specifically. Basically, John will talk, he just won't go around looking for someone to talk to.
History: John was conceived at the very beginning of the titan war. His mother was a military history professor when Prometheus was loosened from his bonds, in a good mood at being free over the years, and missing the contact with humans he had become used to so many hundreds of years ago. She was the kind of hands on teacher lots of kids love, one who had her kids try to come up with ways the loosing side could have won battles, etc. The kind of woman Prometheus could understand and almost relate with.
Of course, John never knew his father. It was basically a relationship that lasted only a weeks. From an early age John was hunted by the monsters of Tartarus, but Prometheus had thought of that. He had set up defenses that would last until John could be sent to Camp Half-Blood if the titans lost, or raised by his father if they won. He also gave John a sword that grows out a fake cell phone when it's flipped open, and left enough money so his mother could get him fencing lessons. The last of his gifts was a dog, a black lab. (A puppy at the time, aging at the same pace as John. His one and only companion throughout most of his life.) One that could speak in John's mind. Prometheus, John's mother, and John all weren't completely sure why Prometheus gave him this gift. Maybe it was a hope, a gift to show that John could have whatever he wanted after the Titans won the war.The titans, of course, lost.
The defenses on the house failed early (John was only 10) as Prometheus's power was weakened in Kronos's fall back into Tartarus. Satyrs picked up his strong scent and quickly arrived on the scene and saved the child, but not before his mother was devoured by hell-hounds. The satyrs had issues getting him to camp
John spent a couple years in the Hermes Cabin, one of a very few who where never claimed. None of the gods had him, and they assumed it was just a powerful spirit or some-such that had been father to him. Prometheus had hidden his birth from their sight. When Camp Half-Blood started to overflow, he was the among the first to be sent to Half-Blood Academy. After the first few demititans were discovered, his father managed to claim him from afar. Now he is a trainee at Half-Blood Academy, hoping to go back into the world after his six long years of waiting.
