This is DD's first time away from home. He's a little scared, but feels the need to hide it. As a Child of Rhea he has a habit to be coddling. He refers to people with familiarisms like "Sugar, Honeybear, Chere, Filli, Petite," and others. Not out of some attempt to engage them romantically, but simply out of a habit he picked up from his mother figure Mama Delaney. So any ladies going to be friends with him need to be prepared for that.
Guy friends will feel protective of him, despite his good health and fitness. It's a part of who he is as a child of Rhea.
A girl who wants to be more than friends is going to have to bypass subtle hints and suggestions, he won't get them. You would basically have to grab him and kiss him for him to get it. He just doesn't think romantically.
A quick way to become his enemy is to talk trash about New Orleans or it's traditions. Another is to mistreat women. It is in DD to stand up for himself, though his first recourse is to talk out problems. He's as strong as children of the Big Three, and Gods recognize him as equal (Being a child of Rhea, not because he is, which he isn't)

I have a character who is the Daughter of Mars she's not exactly knew to the area she is from the south as well though Atlanta rather than New Orleans. I'm hoping Bellatrix and DD could be more than friends since I can imagine them as an opposite attract kinda thing but if not they can be friends let me know

I can dig it. He would definitely agree with that quote there. And the frustration and attraction would definitely throw him for a loop. Can she handle being called some familiarity? You know, Hon, Sugar, Bebe, Cher, Petit?

Yeah Bella would be able to handle that she was raised by her grandparents so being called pet names isn't exactly new to her. She'd probably be a little surprised to her it from a guy but would get it over it
