IC:
As is the wide spread belief, Gods were omnipresent. All seeing, all hearing, all knowing, it just came with the territory of being a God. On the surface that would have seemed to some people like the best thing in the world, but to Thanatos it was a bloody nuisance. Imagine hearing chatter in your head all the time, or seeing images of people doing mundane and boring things twenty four seven, or even knowing things that he would never ever in a million years want to know. It wasn't a picnic in the park, let him tell you and over the centuries Thanatos had learned to block all of these things out. Nowadays it was more like channel surfing and like channel surfing you never found anything good.
He was about to tune out, in a way, and concentrate on just the here and now which consisted of too sweet coffee and a cold bagel. The Academy as a whole might belong to the Gods, but it's teacher's resource room was stocked like any neighborhood high school in Queens. There was the option of going to the Underworld for lunch but the feeling of something insidious washed over him and took away any thought of leaving academy grounds.
She didn't seem to be in a very good mood today.
Than shook his head, set his mug down perfectly on the condensation circle it had made and moved. In the blink of an eye his surroundings had changed from the sunny resource room to the dimly lit Hades Residence. As always Than had to wonder how the interior decorators could merge posh gentleman's club and bdsm dungeon together but they did a pretty good job of it. He had ended up teleporting a little to the left of her and for a moment stared at the back of her head. She had her hair down, she was dressed in black. He had a number of Morticia Addams jokes which needed telling.
But there were some things even he wouldn't risk. Not when she was in one of these moods. He had heard that she had been forced to spend some time with Demeter an activity that would make a saint want to become a murderer. He moved a little, making sure that she could hear his approach, his dark eyes taking in the look on her face. It was like being back in the Underworld again in the deepest winter when she was it's Iron Queen.
"My Lady," He even bowed, mirroring the mannerisms he would have shown in court. Anything could set her off, and he didn't want that. Than didn't need to the God of Death to know that the life on one little boy turned flower was at stake. "You're not going to crush it are you? That seems anti climatic."
"Of course I'm not. Do you take me for Hera?" Her tone was snappish, but there was a part of Persephone that was glad that Than was here. He had probably sensed her dark mood from somewhere on campus and hopefully would keep her from crushing Lewis Walker into a pulp. "I grow tired of...his oldest," She couldn't even bring herself to name that particular student without flying into a rage. "And her insubordination." Turning, Persephone stared at Than, a look that would make mortals piss themselves with fear. She was pleased when Than flinched, it was exactly what the anger inside her was looking for. "I am displeased with the Roman encampment that sprung up while I was away and the fact that there is a daughter of Pluto in their midst, proving to the world that he cheats on me no matter what aspect he's in!" Her voice was so shrill now the windows trembled. Outside, thorns erupted from plants which normally didn't have them, roots became snarled, vines grew heavily. "These brats need to go. Every single one of them who dream that their pathetic, mortal mothers are good enough to take my place!"
"Then surely my Lady has a plan." Thanatos replied, trying to keep his voice calm despite the fact that she was downright scary at the moment. There was only rage in her expression and in her eyes, he pitied the children of Hades and Pluto. "Perhaps a blow or two to make them repent before you destroy them all?" It was a very transparent suggestion but they both knew that he was just here as a punching bag.
"Exactly." With that word the daisy at the window sill was a demi god boy once again. A dirty, naked demi god boy spotting a half crazed look in his eyes. Lewis let out a squeak, rushed to pull open the curtains and banged his head on the glass trying to push his head out the window. He continued to push is forehead against it, even as Persephone turned back to Than. "He still thinks he's a plant." She said, smiling for the first time now, but only with her lips. "I think I'll restore his mind piece by piece depending on their good behavior." Without waiting for an answer she turned and snapped her fingers at the nearest skeleton. "Take it somewhere crowded. The cafeteria should do at this hour."
Than watched as one of the skeletons came sliding up to pull Lewis away. He hoped that his escorts was one of the good ones and would give the boy some pants but Skeletons didn't really have much heart. "And the rest?" He thought it would be a good idea to make her spill everything now, so that he'd know which ideas were really, really unacceptable. Those ideas he would try to put a stop to, if he could.

That thudding sound that Lewis was making as he banged his head against the closed window was annoying her. Surely the sound, which punctuated her every word, was ruining the dramatic effect of the entire scene. Repressing the urge to sigh, Persephone shot a glare at the skeletons making them pick up their pace as they lead a struggling Lewis out of the room. Everything was just so damned annoying and she couldn't shake off the feeling no matter how hard she tried. Worse, she had been trying for centuries.
Staring at curtains, Persephone was silent for several seconds before turning to Than and answering his question. "For the rest..." It was a good thing that there weren't a legion of Hades' bastards here at the Academy but on the other hand four was already one to many. She snapped her fingers at another skeleton as if to complete her sentence. "You and your brethren are not to serve Riven anymore." She told it once it did it's bow and scrape. "You are not to come to his call. He is not allowed in the house and you maybe do what you like with his things." The skeletons would probably destroy it, or eat it or whichever. Persephone didn't really care.
"He can start having things back to normal when Joelle behaves herself." This bit was directed to Than though her eyes were on the skeleton as it moved away into the shadows. She continued not looking at him by starting to examine her fingernails. There was dirt under them, she didn't really know how it got there seen that she hadn't been gardening today. Maybe it was one of those unglamorous side effects of being Goddess of the Spring. "And has for that daughter of Plato." Persephone paused, frowning. There was a reason why she did not want to look at Than. It was a good chance that he'd have one of those 'yes-men' looks on and then she'd spot the sympathy in his eyes.
It made her want to whine and say something stupid like, 'All I want is a little bit of respect.' or 'Why can't he stop cheating on me?' It was not a luxury that Persephone could afford however, she didn't need to look like the girl who got kidnapped, had something world altering happen because of it and then cast away like yesterday's newspaper. The history books did enough of that on their own. "As for the Pluto girl.." Her head snapped up and she tossed Than a sour look, screwing up her face so that she wouldn't on accident look sad and pathetic. "You're such a good for nothing, think of something for once."

This was going to take a while, Thanatos fought down a sigh and tried to keep the expression on his face as calm as possible. Glancing over Persephone's left shoulder, he caught his reflection in the gilded mirror behind her. At least I look subservient enough. He thought to himself, glancing over a the group of skeletons dragging Lewis away before fixing his dark gaze on Persephone yet again.
Tensing up once more when she called another skeleton to her, Than listened intently to the instructions that Persephone dictated. Her command sounded relatively bloodless, but Than had to wonder how Riven was ever going to get into the Hades residence on his own. The house was guarded by skeletons and if they did not recognize him. The boy was going to get a very unpleasant welcome when he came back to the academy. And what if he needed help now while off academy grounds? The skeleton network was far more extensive then anyone living could ever fathom, and news always traveled fast.
Crossing his arms in front of him, Than quickly uncrossed them again when he realized how defensive his posture might seem. Defensive and disapproving. The skeletons were gone now, at least they were out of sight, and he could give his full attention to Persephone. Even though she had snapped at him and called him a good for nothing, Than could guess that the fires of her anger was dying away. She seemed sad under all that posturing and Than let a few seconds trickle by before letting out that sign he had been holding back.
"Out of ideas for now...but I'm sure some Nectar will help me think." He raised an eyebrow at her and looked around. "I'm sure there's some stashed away in here somewhere." Than inhaled and closed his eyes. "I can smell it." He really could to, the sweet and tangy golden drink of the gods. Than was about to literally sniff out it's location when one of the skeletons came up with a tray complete with two full glasses and a bottle of the stuff in an ice bucket. They weren't kidding when they said that Hades' kids got full service. Than lifted the bottle to study it. "I guess this is vintage." He shot a smirk at Persephone. There was even a date of when the bottle was sealed, though that didn't mean much of anything to Than at all. Gods didn't think of time as mortals did.
The ice made crunching noises as he put the bottle back and soon Than was holding out one of the wine glasses to Persephone. "We'll fill her tent with flowers for starters." She did ask for suggestions and he made it a point to voice out the ones that were relatively harmless. "With compliments form Persephone, so that she'll know who not to mess with."

Sometimes, there are days when even the gods themselves get their tempers and patience sorely tested.
In Hades' case, that day is today.
Even the usually solemn and grim Lord of the Underworld had his moment when the soul of one of the men his lovely wife, Queen Persephone, slept with came floating to his Throne Room, cowering in fear when he laid his eyes on Hades. Course, the Dark Ruler could have instantly ordered Eternal Torture, but common sense still prevailed over his anger, reminding him to be just and fair, even with the blinding rage he was experiencing.
The unfortunate man was a good pastor back when he was still alive ---- attending to his flock, feeding the hungry, doing all sorts of charities... the works. He was actually driving to a sermon when a huge truck came careering out of a curve and crashed the car he was on off the cliff.
Hades contemplated on giving him The Dung Job--- shoveling Cerberus manures into sacks so that Persephone can later use them as fertilizer for her garden --- but his goddess' other liaisons were already assigned to that area, and he thought that perhaps this one needed a less severe punishment.
Enter Present.
Which is why pastor ghost was there now with him. It was wide-eyed and trembling like a leaf in the passenger seat while the Lord of the Underworld zoomed right out of the center of the smooth pavement where moments ago, that part of the highway opened up to reveal a gaping hole towards the Realm of the Dead. The sleek black Lamborghini Murcielago jumped out of the earth with a roar and accelerated towards the horizon, leaving only trails of black fire behind it. What can he say? The chariot had its upgrade.
Hades glanced at the soul beside him and hid a smirk. His passenger looked like it would rather be elsewhere than there with him. "What's the matter?," he asked calmly, keeping one eye on the road and the other on his new assistant. "You look like you've just seen a ghost."
The spirit didn't answer though. It was too busy looking green and being afraid as rows after rows of trees buzzed past their windows while Hades calmly rocketed themselves with the speed he was handling their vehicle. The Dark Ruler shrugged his shoulders when he realized the one he was speaking to was mute and paralyzed at the moment. He supposed the pastor still wasn't over the accident that killed him.
It didn't take long for Hades to arrived at the Academy. As he pulled on the brakes without warning, the car immediately screeched to a stop, sending the pastor ghost forward from the sudden change in motion, but The Notorious One didnt even pause to care. He opened his side door, and it lifted up, allowing him exit. The keys in the ignition disappeared like fragile smoke when Hades' boots touched the gravel on the ground. Accompanied with that is the scambling and shuffling movement from the cursed soul's direction.
Hades waved his hand, and out of the air, he conjured 20 large baggage. Only 2 of them really contained his clothes. The other 18 were empty bags filled with heavy rocks and stones. And Pastor Ghost was going to carry them all.
"Pick them up," he simply said, eyeing the thin, lanky transparent outline of the spirit. It looked as if a light breeze might blow it away, but Hades didn't take back his order. He just dusted nonexistent dust off the shoulder of his leather jacket and gave his servant an unreadable cold look. Turning around, he made his way towards the Academy, striding confidently along the marbled floors with his trademark grim expression. There were a lot of curious stares and awed looks and deep bows and low curtsies he got from the students, but he never did once stopped to talk to them. Meanwhile, the pastor struggled to keep up with him, loudly dragging his feet as the luggages weighted him down. Hades didnt need to turn around to see he was right. The efforted panting the ghost was making was noisy enough to wake the dead.
He didn't need to ask where Hades Residence was to find it. Hades only followed that familiar flowery smell that he caught on, knowing fully well that it was distinct only to his wife, the Goddess of Spring. Reaching his destination, he threw the doors wide open with much force so that they banged themselves on the wall. He quickly scanned the room with his eyes and saw his wife talking to the God of Death. Striding over, he greeted the god with a nod and his Queen the faintest hint of a smile. "Thanatos. Persephone."
As if on cue, the ghost who had been with him all throughout the ride to the school, came waddling through the entrance. Because it was hurrying with a lot of things carried, it lost its balance and tripped on the floor, sending one bag he was carrying sailing through the air where it popped and opened, accidentally hurling rocks towards the gods and goddess. Before the stones made contact with them, however, the hard objects transformed into smoke so that only soft wisps of gray air touched their faces.
"Fool," Hades could only mutter.

Looking at Than out of the corner of her eyes, one thought entered Persephone's mind. He was listless, judging from his body language and the way he was moving about. Persephone had presided over the court of the Underworld long enough to know when someone was stalling for time. Instead of being annoyed by it though, Persephone found herself smiling slightly. She had put him in a tough spot she knew, and considering the circumstances it was nice of Than to tolerate it and play punching bag. Persephone hoped it was because he didn't want her to get into trouble with Pontos for killing students and not because he was under the employ of her husband.
"Your suggestion is rather lame." Persephone commented, meaning the one about filling the Pluto girl's tent with flowers. "But I'm sure I can put a spin on things." She did the same thing to Joelle very often, something that the girl found very annoying much to Persephone's amusement. "Maybe something with thorns. Lots and lots of thorns..and in the morning too." She leaned against the table where the skeletal servant had sat down his tray of nectar. The golden liquid glowed in the dimness of the Hades residence and now that she had had an opportunity to vent, Persephone found herself getting calmer. She plucked a glass from the tray and raised it to Than. Before she could make a toast though, the door slammed open and it was as if that act was like a vacuum sucking out Persephone's budding good mood.
Her eyes narrowed at the figure framed in the doorway and Persephone pushed herself off the table as it came closer. What was he doing up here in the mortal world? Persephone bought the goblet to her lips and took a sip, fighting not to toss down all that nectar in one go. She looked composed enough as Hades approached but anyone looking at Persephone would know that her's was a fighting stance.
"We were just talking about you." Her tone was as silky as wisps of rock turned smoke which caressed her face. "Though I am very much curious as to why you're in the mortal world today, I think it's wise, Hades, if you go and visit Pontos to tell him that you are here. I'm sure proper accommodations can be arranged, unless of course you'd rather stay here with your bastards." Her's was an acidic tone as well. Persephone bought the goblet to her lips again and made the mistake of glancing at the servant shade he had bought with him. It took her the span of seconds to recognize that ghostly face.
"Thomas? What is he doing here?" She would have thought that with the pastor's clean record, he'd be in Paradise by now. Not dragging around Hades' luggage.

He allowed himself a little smile when she commented that his idea was lame. "It just went hobbling past." Than quipped, body posture finally relaxing a little more because Persephone's comment confirmed that the mood was on the path to getting less murderous. She was still sad though. Than was the god of Death but his influence extended to more then just mortal souls. Dreams died as well and so did ideas and emotions and he was there to reap them all. Persephone was mourning and her grief was so tangible that it made him wish he could pick it up and throw it out the window.
Some day...He thought and was reaching for his own glass when the front doors banged open. Than's eyes went wide, the expression on his face etched with surprise. There weren't really a lot of instances where Hades could sneak up on Than. Think of it as an employee's instinct, the cold feeling you got in your gut when your boss was nearby and coming directly towards you. This instinct had obviously been dampened by the fact that he had given too much of his attention on the boss' wife.
Forcing calmness over his expression, Than pushed himself off the table and bowed. "My Lord." He was standing on ceremony again, though his thoughts were filled with curses aimed at Hades' bad timing. She was just starting to get over herself and judging from the growing tension in the room and Persephone's barbed words, the Hades kids would be lucky if their residence didn't burn down in a blaze of hell fire and flowers. Looking from Persephone to Hades, Than raised an eyebrow when he heard her mention a Thomas. Who was this Thomas? It took Than another few seconds to realize that Persephone was referring to the spirit servant. He had no idea what connection Persephone had with the spirit because he had never seen her been buddy buddy with them down in the Underworld, but whatever it was there was a huge possibility that it wouldn't be very good.
"How was the journey up my Lord?" He asked smoothly, pretending that nothing was wrong and wondering how he was going to inch away from this one. Punching bag or not, getting into the middle of this would result in too many hits then Than would have wanted.

Hades eyed with a very displeased look the soul in front of him. The Lord of Underworld was usually very patient and tolerant, but there were exceptions to the case, and having slept with his Queen was one of them. To say that he wasn't happy was a great understatement. The cold rage that he had been trying to push down eversince he met the ghost was threatening to burst up again. Narrowing his eyes, he was about to summon two of his skeletons guards to take the clumsy oaf to a torture chamber when Persephone spoke. Her voice, though was laced with toned-down animosity, temporarily made him forget his anger. He turned around and masked his face with indifference to combat her own one.
"Talking about me?" he asked, raising a dark brow as he stared at her breath-taking features. He had missed her terribly. It had been quite a long time since he had seen her, eversince her decision to defy and avoid him, opting instead to stay at the Academy than at his Kingdom in the Underworld where she rightfully belonged. It was almost staggering how he ached for her. Harder still to pretend that he felt nothing. "Good things, I hope?" he said, walking over to her and stopping when he was but a foot away. He was about to lean in to press a light kiss on her cheek as a greeting when her next words stopped him cold. He pulled back and went silent, studying her beautiful face for any hint of affection, but found nothing. As always.
"I'm sure my children can well take care of themselves," he said dryly. "How about yours? Do you sleep next to their beds and tell them their bedtimes stories?" A muscle in his jaw moved as if he was restraining himself. "Is that why you came up here?" He hated himself for how bitter he sounded. How his words sounded needy. As if he resented much her leaving him.
Then he saw how her eyes focused on the ghost that came with him and a flicker of recognition was clear on her face. "Oh, do you know him?" Hades continued asking. His tone was arctic, like he knew already that she would find the soul familiar, but was only pretending that he didn't. "The Underworld was short on staff, so I thought he'd be useful working as my assistant for the moment. He is, afterall, quite experienced on the charity field." He shrugged before walking over to a nearby chair and smoothly sliding himself on it. He turned dark eyes on her and observed her reactions fully, wondering if his wife still held some feelings for the spirit carrying his luggages.
Then Thanatos spoke, and Hades turned towards the man beside Persephone. Thanatos was his right hand, and he could always count on him. Among the other gods, he was the only one Hades had most confidence in--- more than even his brothers. Ironic how he'd trust his life to the God of Death.
Hades leaned forward thoughtfully and placed his hands together with only the fingertips touching while his elbows rested on the arms of the seat he was in. "The journey was uneventful, Thanatos. A little bumpy, but eventful." He looked at the ghost who had now stood up and regained composure, picking up the other bags that he had scattered on the ground. "Though I don't think Thomas here was fond of the ride. He looked a little green throughout the time we travelled towards here." He gave a small wry smile, as if he didn't think much of the spirit's dilemma.
He leaned back and scratched his chin for a few seconds, before waving carelessly his other hand. A skeleton materialized from the ground and kneeled in front of him. "Bring the ghost to Pontos. The headmaster will tell him where I will be staying and where to bring the bags." The skeleton nodded and proceeded to stand up, but then Hades chose that moment to change his mind. "Wait," he said in a loud clear tone that rang all over the room. "Tell Pontos instead that I would spend my stay here in the Academy in the same room my wife is staying."

He was coming toward her and Persephone had to fight to keep that impassive look on her face. She could not stop the memory of their very, very first meeting from flashing across her eyes though. A dark figure stalking toward her. A hungry look in his eyes. His hands...Presephone blinked, scolding herself silently for those memories as this was not the time to wax nostalgic and besides she tried not to admit, even to herself that there was still a part of her that was afraid of him.
She might as well been one of her statues as he leaned in toward her. A kiss in greeting, she realized it was her mind's way of preparing her body for his touch. After the tantrum she had threw just moments ago she did not think she could handle even the faintest touch from him. But it seems that her comment made him stop, Fates be thanked, she took the opportunity to move along the desk she had been leaning on and away from him. "And if I did, Aphrodite comes down here to personally braid up her children's hair." Persephone quipped. "Reading stories is not in my job description."
She gave Hades a prissy little frown as he explained about Thomas' presence and reached for her glass only to find that it was empty. Quickly Persephone reached for Than's as he didn't look like he'd be taking a sip anytime soon. Speaking of which, she threw a glance at the God of Death from over her shoulder. Than looked like her wanted nothing more then to unfurl his wings and take off. As much as Persephone wanted him to stay and act as a buffer she wasn't so undignified as to have a fight with her husband in front of one of his employees.
"There was never any doubt that you would be housed in my chambers, husband." This was said to Hades though she hardly sounded welcoming at all. Persephone chose to leave the subject of Thomas alone, or at least until she found out why he was here. "But send him to Pontos, do. I think the Headmaster needs to know that you are here." Pontos probably already did know, but for formality's sake. Persephone rolled her eyes. "But you must be tired from the journey up, Hades. If you like I can show you to" She paused. "Our chambers now." Finishing off Than's glass she reached out and took the bottle of nectar. "I'd give to to you, but it seems I will be needing it more. I thank you for your service to me Thanatos." She was dismissing him, though she knew that he wouldn't leave until Hades told him to.

No one really knew this but Thanatos had been witness to a lot of embarrassing moments during his duties as the God of Death. Not everyone died peacefully and if he had a dollar for every hysterical soul he came across he'd be the God of a damn lot of dollar bills too. And then of course he had to deal with escapees of the Underworld. Those tried everything to elude him. Than's eyes narrowed as he remembered one particular soul who had been successful in wrestling him down. It was childish and beneath a god, but Than still found pleasure in watching a particular boulder slide down a particular hill and hearing that soul's curses and moans of despair.
But back to the topic at hand. Yes, he had seen a lot of embarrassing moments and this one was going to top the list if he had to endure another moment of it. Than would have liked to just shimmer out and go somewhere else, but Hades was here and it would be rude to just disappear in the middle of polite small talk. It was a relief when Persephone thanked him. He could have been standing on a different continent and still would not be able to miss the dismissal in her tone. If Hades had not been standing there, Than would have surely cracked a joke about her putting that bottle to good use but as it was she only allowed himself a small, formal smile at both rulers of the Underworld.
"I hope my Lady enjoys her nectar. It is vintage after all." He gestured to the label still finding the word vintage amusing. Such things didn't have any meaning to gods. He turned to Hades again, since there was no way he could actually make a move until the Lord of the Underworld said so. "It's good to hear that you had an uneventful ride. Things seem less congested with the new highways in place. Speaking of which, I do not think I should intrude on your time any longer. If my Lord allows it, I shall make a move." He waited until Hades gave his answer and then shimmered out, happy to finally be away from the Hades residence. Than had to wonder though, as he felt a pang of worry for Persephone, what would actually come out of Hades' visit and which parts of the Academy would be burnt to the ground.

"Hmm..."
It was all that Hades could say as he kept his dark eyes straight to his wife, staring at Persephone with such intensity he might as well have been looking straight into her soul. She had changed so much from the innocent girl that he had first met centuries ago. He wondered how she seemed different now. Perhaps his abduction of her did that. Perhaps taking her away from mortal eyes and making her his Queen transformed her. Perhaps having her spend so much time in the Underworld sapped her of her zest and replaced it with the present coolness.
She's now more confident, more poised ... more self-assured. Gone was her guilessness and no longer was she Demeter's trusting young daughter. However, the way that she made him ache and long like no other still never wavered nor disappeared. She was still the same. Even now, just being in the same room with her, it took Hades all his restraint to keep his impassive face on when he was feeling anything but nothing towards Persephone. She makes him hard to breathe. But her dry tone, though her words were civil, was all he need to hear to know not to expect her to take on the role of a loving wife any time soon.
"Yes, a short nap would be good."
He studied her for a couple more seconds before swallowing down his desire and disappointment. It tasted bittersweet. He had sampled it quite a lot eversince he had came to know her.
Standing up, Hades waved the skeleton and the ghost away, momentarily forgetting that Persephone wasn't the only one near him. They hurried out of the room, and he stared at their wake until they finally disappeared from his line of sight. And then Thanatos asked to be excused, perhaps wanting to escape the charged atmosphere in the room. He looked almost painfully uneasy, caught in the middle of a storm that's about to happen. Hades couldn't blame him though, and he gave the Death God his silent dismissal with a slight nod of his head. Thanatos shimmered out, dematerializing into the air where he had been standing just a few seconds ago.
And then he and Persephone were alone.
Just the two of them together in the huge space.
The emptiness was suffocating. The silence deafening.
And then Hades broke it.
He slowly strode towards Persephone, his even steps echoing in the room. A monster could have come attack the Academy, and still Hades would have not glanced away from her. His eyes fixed on his Queen, and he didn't stop walking until he was but 3 feet away from her, closer than what was appropriate, taking in the same air she was breathing in.
He raised a hand, only to reach out and hold his wife's wrist of her hand that was holding the glass she'd been drinking from. His cold fingers wrapped around her ivory skin, but he held her firmly enough that she wouldn't be able to get away him nor hurt her with his effort. Then Hades took the bottle of nectar with his other hand and quietly poured it on the glass, steadily supporting her hand as they both held the glass now. When the golden liquid filled the crystal goblet, he moved her wrist and brought the rim of the clear container to his lips. It was only then that the Lord of the Underworld took a sip of the sweet fluid.
When he finished, he guided her hand so that the glass neared her mouth. "Drink. And lead me to our chambers afterwards."

There was something like a smile playing on the corners of Persephone's lips as she listened to Than's joke. She had known Than even since the first time she had been taken to the Underworld, and knew just from his tone that there was something that he wasn't saying. Of course with Hades around, Than would have to keep his words in check as there were only so many things that could say in font of your boss and all. "You can be sure that I will." She replied. Noticing that Hades was giving him a mod of dismissal, Persephone turned and gave a smile to Than as he faded out, escaping to some other place. The smile was the only real display of sincere emotion from Persephone since Hades had stepped onto campus.
Now she would have to deal with him.
Turning back to face her husband, Persephone schooled her features into something more passive. She tried to remind herself that she had been dealing with Hades winter after winter since before mankind could remember and she should be used to such things by now. Problem was, she really really wasn't. He was, as he had always been, too intense for her. His gaze alone made her feel like wilting and she did not like the fact that he could through to the very essence of her. It was as if the aura around him was sucking out all sound and all light and worst of all she felt herself being drawn in too. If he hadn't approached her, Persephone would have gone towards him, already she was taking that first step.
She shrank back however when he invaded her personal space. Persephone simply stared as he took her hand, the pads of his fingers were cool against her skin. She of all people knew better then to struggle, that grip could grow to be tighter then a vice. She let him manipulate her hands, eyes glazing over as she watched him drink from the goblet. He hadn't changed a bit. The way he was acting vividly reminded her of the time he had offered that pomegranate to her. Persephone did not realize that her breathing had gone ragged. Her knees felt weak and she would have fallen to his feet if it were not for his hands on her.
Feeling a tug in her gut, Persephone dropped her gaze to the goblet and drank, drowning it's contents all in one go. Without looking at him again, she faded out, moving towards her room on campus. Their room now.
