Nimh scurried around her dorm in a flurry as she tried to figure out what she was even doing. It was hard being a crazy person. She lost her train of thought very easily, and the ability to be distracted was like ten times worse. Not to mention that little addition of ADHD and Dyslexia. The girl was like a walking time-bomb, someone just had to make sure they disabled her correctly. She was extremely glad she hadn't had any room-mates. The whole thought of cluttering her new little house even more by the new thought of a +1 would just be hectic. Plus whoever she ended up rooming with would have to deal with Nimh, her craziness, her jackalope Thumper, her Panther-Gryphon Fuzzy, Mr.Whiskers the fat tabby cat, and Ashes the Phoenix. What a group.
Fuzzy and Thumper seemed to be pretty happy with the fact that she didn't have anyone either, they had taken up residence on the other beds and were promptly watching Nimh frustratedly fling herself around the place. She ran over to a book shelf and stared at it for a couple seconds, grabbed a book- opened it- put a sock in it- then closed it and put it back. Then she rushed over to her closet and did almost the same thing, but instead put a book on a hanger and put it in the closet. The whole process was very confusing, and even her pets seemed like they were getting a work out from watching her hop all over the place. "What do i do what am i doing.. where am i going.." she talked to herself and to her animals. Pointedly looking at them like they were children who just stole cookies. Luckily they were used to crazy Nimh, and all seemed to sigh at once and shake their heads. "AHA! That's what you always say!" she pointed a rainbow nailpolished finger at each of them accusingly before doing the 'I'm-Watching-You' gesture.
Turning back to her bed she sighed, she didn't even know where room 101 was. It was the room she was to be going to so she could get her new school books. She wondered if her teachers were going to be weird. But not the good weird, more like that bad weird- the kind that when you tasted you immediately spat out. All these thoughts were just confusing herself more though; putting a hand to her forehead, she let it drop down covering her face. "Why am i so crazy.." she mummbled into her hand before a light bulb shattered in her brain. (Yeah. Shattered- because normal people got the light and the little 'ding!' noise, she got the freaky version.) "FUZZY GET YOUR JAMMIES ON! WE'RE TAKING A SNOOZE!" she grinned through her hands and pounced on the Raven-Panther-hybrid who was on the bed. Curling up next to him she let her body change shape until she was a cub-sized version of Fuzzy. Laying next to him she closed her eyes and let herself wander into dream land.

Nimh grinned at the magical world before her. The best way to describe it would be like watching the Avatar movie on acid. Her hair fell in rainbow colors, swirling together and melting. Making little multicolored splatters on her skin and the floor. Every time a drop hit the ground, it would seemingly absorb it and turn into a rainbow footprint before fading. Everything she wore was white, her stalkings, her tutu - even her shirt. Her rainbow hair made colorful streaks down her clothes as if she were a living walking canvas. And around her bore the most beautiful of trees that blossomed all types of exotic flowers. It could be said that this was how the daughter of Proteus saw things in the real world- Bright and full of life. No sorrow or anger, just happiness. But there were times when she couldn't block out all the bad things, and had to flow with them and learn from them.
She stepped lightly across the forest floor, her giggles echoing around her like the nymph herself was in her very presence. Something bright blue caught the corner of her eye and she whirled, unaffraid of whatever it might be. But what the image was would have been hard to describe. The figure shimmered and changed form, it was like looking at one of the ghosties that tended to walk around camp. Hard to focus on anything but it's eyes. Like looking into deep dark pools of water that seemed to stare back at her. "Where am i?" she asked with a tilt of her head. The words she spoke floated out of her mouth like little bubbles of different colored smoke; poofing away before vanishing. It was obvious that she was dreaming, but it seemed like this place had more to it then that. The figure didn't answer. Instead it looked up from her gaze to behind her- Something seemed to have flickered across those emotionless eyes because suddenly the ghost turned and vanished. Like the cheshire cat, it left footprints in its wake. "Wait! Please!" she called after it, thrusting a hand out to where it once had been. But it was already gone and she frowned.
Turning around, she tried to see what had frightened the creature off. She couldn't imagine what would have made even a ghost want to run away. But she found nothing, and instead decided to follow the footprints that had been left by the ghost. Nimh wandered aimlessly, pushing away giant branches or leaves that seemed to cross her path. Animals that would normally should frighten a young girl seemed to bow or step away. Minding their own business. She always had that affect on animals. She assumed it was something to do with being able to turn into the same animal as them or into their predators. The animals that could eat them. Maybe it was out of respect or maybe it was out of fear. She wasn't too sure. On occasion she would talk to the animals about it, ask them questions and such. But they always pushed around it and said things like "Walrus God. Child. You. Me eat now?" which in turn wasn't much of an answer.
For a second she thought she might have fallen out of her dream and was in reality. Her rainbow hair had stopped dripping and was just normally dyed, her once white outfit was now completely rainbow though, covered in vertical drip marks. The world around her seemed perfectly normal. No magic foot prints or ghosties or anything. And then she walked passed a giant tree-sized bottle of Syrup. And no matter how much she wished that were real- she knew it wasn't. She closed her eyes and sighed, this place was so confusing. She never felt this uneasy in her dreams, they were always filled with happiness and joy. Of giant badgers eatingtwist my nippleslipops and grandpa pontos in a jedi outfit doing the hula with Yoda and Obi-one. Nimh had asked him once in real life about it and he seemed to stare at her like he wasn't sure of how to reply. She seemed to get that look a lot these days, like they were deciphering a puzzle and were trying to make sure that the exit made both her and them happy. The last thing anyone wanted was a sad Nimh. She had that ability to make people feel totally guilty even if they weren't guilty at all. Just by giving her signature pout of adorableness.
Nimh had been so caught up in thinking that she hadn't realized the sudden change in atompsphere. Suddenly she felt like she wanted to commit theft and the other feeling was she wanted to turn into a duck. She forced herself not to though, every time she turned into an animal in her dreams- she tended to do so out of her dreams. Mr. D was already angry about the time she'd turned into a zebra and ate his diet pepsi can whilst sleep-walking. She couldn't decipher what she was really seeing though, and stepped over various objects that seemed to have strewn across the open space. A giant stuffed animal gopher sat next to what looked like the worlds largest wallet. Both of which had doors.
She started walking to the giant Gopher, concidering she felt more drawn to it. Like she knew how the giant stuffed animal felt somehow. Reaching her hand out she turned the squeeky dorn knob and opened it. Something must have went weird though, because abruptly the two giant objects combined into a Wallopher. Confused she blinked a couple times before walking in. A bright shining light pierced her eyes for a moment though, and in desperation to shield them she started flailing around and ran into what felt like two other people.
