Thud. Thud. Thud. That was the sound Lewis' head made has he banged it against the glass window. He needed out, out, out and he didn't see that smashing the glass with his head was a very bad thing. He struggled as bony hands grabbed at him, kicking and elbowing and generally trying to grab onto anything that would stop him from being pulled away from the window. Dark. He didn't want that at all. Another set of bony hands joined the first and then another. Lewis' mouth opened as if he would start screaming but no sound came up. Plants were not known to be very vocal after all.
And then sunlight. It was almost blinding when he was thrust out into the open. Lewis' mood did a one eighty and he smiled, no longer struggling. He tipped his face up to the sky, his body slanting and swaying as if to find just that right angle. He hummed a little, oblivious to the stares he got as the skeleton marched him to the dining pavilion. Seeing that it was lunch hour the place was full of people and the stares developed into giggling and pointing and in some cases full blown out laughter.
"Lewis is back!"
"Hi Lewy!"
He turned his head this way and that, staring at all the faces with blank eyes. They were in doors again and an unhappy expression was slowly starting to inch across Lewis' face as he realized this. The bony hands stopped tugging at him, stopping by a table that was laden with food which looking uninteresting to Lewis but not his stomach. Instinctively it grumbled because it had not had proper food in months. Not knowing what to do, Lewis grabbed the nearest thing to him. The contents of the juice pitcher was dumped onto the floor of the pavilion and promptly stepped upon.
"Uh." That didn't seem right. Lewis stared down at his sticky feet and tried to wriggle his toes for effect.

The Academy was having it's first Capture the Flag game with mixed teams, and Noah couldn't help but take charge of his team. He knew how dismally his last quest had failed, but he just couldn't stop himself from taking charge. Standing next to Lee at the Hephaestus table, without deeming to actually sit at another god's table, since it was beneath his dignity, but given that the Hephaestus kids often had some of the best maps, he was willing to stand at their table, at the least.
"So," Noah explained, "If we set the traps here, here and here, we can have the Dionysus and Bacchus groups defend here. And we'll want the Athena and Minerva Houses..."
"Uh Noah," Lee commented somewhat wide eyed, tugging at the other boy's sleeve trying to get his attention.
"Joelle and I--OH WHAT IS IT," Noah demanded looking at Lee annoyed. Lee just pointed trying hard not to laugh, since he knew Noah would gut him right then and there if he did. If it were possible for Noah to get any paler after having spent the Summer in the Underworld, he did. His flesh going so white it could have been transparent if people didn't know better, his eyes bulging out so much it looked like they were trying to jump out of his skull.
"Lewis?" He said in a strangled voice. "That's not possible, he was still a daisy when I left the house..." He couldn't help but stand there and stare, suddenly blushing furiously as it occurred to him that Lewis was as naked as the day he was born, with the exception of potting soil streaked from his waist down.
"Well, someone's having fun," Lee commented with a grin, Noah hit him in the back of the head, giving him the look of "near-death" to remind him to keep his perverted mouth shut. The whole pavilion seemed to be laughing uproariously at Lewis' antics as he picked up a jug of juice throwing it at his feet, staring mystified as just remained puddled around his feet.
"Di Immortales" Noah cured making his way over to the boy. He picked up his jacked from the Hades tabled and walked over to Lewis.
"Lewis?" He said cautiously, his eyes nearly bugged out again as Lewis hugged him tight around the neck. "Good to see you too," He said quietly trying to catch his breath again. "How about we get a coat on you, you look cold..." Noah offered, feeling himself blush again.

"Uh...Uh..." Lewis was still stomping over the mess of juice he had just made on the dining pavilion's floor and needless to say he was making more of a mess. He kicked at he little puddle and jumped around in it almost loosing his balance in the process. More people had joined in the staring and the pointing and the laughing, now that his skeleton guard was gone and he was in full view of everyone.
His stomach growled louder, demanding food. Since he had not had proper food in months, Lewis' stomach was really starting to cramp up. He didn't understand where the pain was coming from though, as a plant he didn't have any of the organs he had as a human but it was slowly starting to register and he didn't like it one bit. "Uh." Agony could be seen creeping over his features as he grabbed another pitcher, pouring it's contents all over his legs.
"Stop doing that!" Hands were grabbing at him again, this time hairy ones. Lewis flung his arms out blindly, accidentally hitting the owner of those hands in the middle with the pitcher he was holding. There was a loud bleating sound and he found himself being dragged away from the puddle he had made. "Silly demi god wasting food. Come away and put some pants on!" He didn't understand any of the words, but Lewis' eyes widened when he looked up at the person dragging him away and saw all the teeth he had on him. Blunt rows perfect for chomping down on him. Lewis panicked when the satyr opened his mouth again and with a burst of maniac energy managed to break free. He ran and threw himself to the nearest thing, in this case Noah.
Lewis buried his face in the boy's chest and wriggled uncomfortably as his stomach gave a loud growl again. "Uh."

Awkward was not a strong enough word to describe what Noah felt with Lewis naked and wriggling against him. He could tell that the boy was in pain, and not quite himself yet, but he wasn't sure what could be done. He glared at the satyr who had upset Lewis so badly. Speaking in tones as cold as Stygian Ice, "Go away," the satyr bleated clopping away as fast as his furry little legs could carry him. It was surprising that he hadn't left goat pellets behind.
Lewis doubled over in pain as his stomach tried to implode with hunger, yanking on Noah's heart strings like no other. He had to get the boy to eat something, but he didn't know how, at least not yet. Then he looked over at the Dionysus table were a couple of Lewis' siblings had started a spit ball war with each other, and it clicked. He felt a tugging sensation in his own gut as a skeleton servant appeared.
"Two glasses of nectar, with straws, and make it fast," Noah instructed holding Lewis comfortingly, giving anyone who snickered or made comments the "evil eye". When the servant returned holding a try with two glasses of amber colored liquid, Noah help Lewis stand upright.
"Lewy," he whispered in the boy's ear as comfortingly as he could. "Watch me," he took one of the glasses and sipped some of the fiery liquid through the straw. "Now your turn," He held the glass and guided the straw to Lewis' lips. "Just like I did Lewy, take a sip, it'll make the pain go away," There was no way Noah could know if Lewis was understanding him or not, he just went off faith, sending a silent prayer to Dionysus and Hades to help Lewis understand, and for him to start healing.
Once Lewis seemed strong enough to stand on his own, he brought the boy over to his own table, sitting him in his own throne-like chair. "Come on Dad, it's Lewis, no offense is meant. He suffers because of his friendship with me, I owe him," he thought willing the chair to remain solid and comfortable. He no longer noticed the boy's nakedness, as an extremely odd sensation of compassion flooded Noah. Lewis needed him to help him recover, and playing nurse was not exactly Noah's forte. He much preferred sending people to the nurse, preferably with a limb or two missing. This was completely foreign to him, but he sucked it up and soldiered on.
"Ready for some Ambrosia and juice? I can get you any kind you like," Noah offered quietly.

One thing was for sure, Lewis wanted that hairy, smelly teeth thing to go away. He could still hear the clomp clomp clomp of it somewhere behind him and it sounded too close for comfort. Letting out a whimpering sound, he pressed his face harder into the front of Noah's shirt. Lewis' toes curled, rubbing against the floor as if he wanted to push his foot through the tiles and put down roots. The combination of that thing moving behind him and the growing pains in his body was making Lewis a very unhappy boy turned plant turned back again, indeed. It was lucky though that he was too busy being unhappy that he didn't bother to look up. The death glare that Noah was giving the satyr would have been enough to make Lewis wilt.
He only looked up when that awful clomp clomp clomp receded, his face drawn and pale as he looked around the dining pavilion. Lewis was hesitant to move towards the table once again, his plant instincts had found a safe place near Noah and most of his mind just wanted to concentrate on setting down roots. Trouble was, he didn't have roots anymore and he was still hungry. As if on cue his stomach emitted another loud growl and clenched up in such a way that it made Lewis double over once more. He stayed hunched over and was about to fall to the floor in a fetal position when hands were pulling him back up again. Glassy eyes stared at Noah, or rather at Noah's mouth as it moved and formed words that Lewis could no longer understand. He watched the ensuing demonstration with a rather slack jawed expression and stared dumbly at the glass when it was held out to him. The straw had swiveled to point in his direction and for a few minutes he held a staring contest with it.
"Uh." Anyone watching would have said that it wasn't going to work. Lewis' mind was too shattered from his time as a plant to ever function in the human way again. What they didn't know though, and what Persephone had overlooked was that the children of Dionysus thieved on madness. They lived in it, they lived with it and their minds could always draw understanding from inside it. Lewis took the cup, fumbled and spilled a third of it's contents because he was not used to holding things with fingers. Clumsily putting the straw into his mouth, he exhaled causing bubbles to form in the liquid. After several repeats, Lewis finally got something into his mouth. The feel of it as it slid down the back of his throat was like waking up with the morning sun. Lewis felt like he was stretching and growing when all he was doing was standing still.
He sat rather awkwardly in Noah's chair still nursing the liquid sunshine in a cup. He still couldn't' understand the words that were coming out of Noah's mouth but as he looked at Noah, there was just a teensy bit of recognition in his eyes. "No..ah." Lewis' face almost cracked into two because of his huge smile. He sucked up the drink in his cup until there wasn't any left but kept on sucking anyway.

It was hard to believe that something so simple as Lewis calling out Noah's name and smiling, could me the ice that encased Noah's heart. Not trusting his own voice Noah nodded, adding nectar from his own cup into Lewis' as the boy slurped at it noisily. One instinct told Noah to throw his arms around the boy and hug him, never letting go. Another instinct told him that to do so, would only invite more pain and sufferings as it was clear Persephone wasn't above using Lewis for her own ends.
He kept adding nectar to Lewis' cup until he thought steam would coming out of the boy's ears. "Maybe we should have some juice instead..." Noah mused grabbing for a bottle of grape juice, not wanting to take his arm from around Lewis' shoulders for some irrational fear that the boy might vanish into smoke. His hand shook as he poured a bit overwhelmed by the flood of emotions that assailed him. Noah cleared his throat, swallowing down the flood composing himself.
"Would you like something else to eat Lewis?" He was at a bit of a loss, so he just soldiered on acting like this whole episode was perfectly natural and normal.
"Are you cold, maybe if I tie my jacket around your waist that'll warm you up some," Noah offered still reluctant to lose the physical connection he had with the boy he cared for so very much. "We could say it's a kilt, just like the ones Orion likes to wear wouldn't that be fun?" He stood, helping Lewis stand as well, and carefully tied the long fabric of Noah's duster jacket around Lewis' waist, his heart doing little back flips every time their bare skin met. "Get ahold of yourself already Noah! Gods, you act as though it were the first time you've touched a boy...at all" Noah chided himself settling back into his seat next to Lewis. "Better?" he asked replacing his arm around Lewis' shoulders.
Noah was so going to have to have a long conversation with his sister, and her attitudes about Persephone. He would not stand for her turning the boy into a flower again, no matter what.

At some point Lewis started humming. It wasn't something that anyone would recognize as a song but it was a happy little tune. Happy and contented and from time to time punctuated with the sounds of him slurping up the very last drops of liquid sunshine from his cup. Every little bit that went down his throat made Lewis feel better and better. He stretched and wriggled on Noah's throne, looking at it with wide eyes. It was as if sitting down was really a treat for him and in someways it was. There was no such thing as parking your butt when you were a plant. Come to think of it there was no such thing as butts as well.
Noah's arm around his shoulder was a comforting weight, anchoring him and keeping him grounded. He turned another smile as Noah started to speak again, fixing his eyes on how Noah's lips moved as he talked. The words were sounding less and less foreign but Lewis still wasn't able to make out what they meant. That didn't stop him from reaching out to touch Noah's lips with his finger tips, tracing the other boy's lower lip and then upper one as Noah asked if he wanted something to eat. Lewis shook his cup as if in reply to Noah's question about wanting food. He'd really like more of that liquid sunshine, not understanding that too much would make him burn up like firewood.
When he was made to stand, Lewis's hands were still on Noah's face, following the line of his jaw or the curve of his cheekbone. The touch was innocent yet sensual, more on the latter if you took into consideration how intently Lewis was looking at Noah. His eyes were half lidded and a little sleepy, a little smile on his lips as his fingers slipped into Noah's hair. "Bet-ter No-ah" Lewis stuttered, moving closer to give Noah a half hug. For a moment it seemed that Lewis was going to try to crawl right into Noah's lap but at the very last second he abruptly stood up. Swaying a little, Lewis started to scurry towards the nearest exit, which was an open window but he couldn't really tell the difference between windows and doors at the moment.
About half way there, Lewis turned to look at Noah. There was sunshine outside and with Noah outside too, nothing could get better then that.

Noah's heart seemed to soar out of his chest as Lewis' hand tenderly caressed his face, the innocent yet sensual touch made Noah flush at he cheeks. It was a strange heady feeling that left Noah feeling off balance, and strangely invulnerable at the same time. It was like a madness was creeping over him, a strange madness only Lewis' touch could both bring on and cure. It sent shivers down his spine, live even the most terrifying tortures of the Underworld couldn't do.
"Bet-ter No-ah" Lewis' voice cut across the fog that pervaded his mind, a small smile, one Noah reserved just for Lewis creased his face. The godly drink seemed to be helping, although, there for a second Lewis must have thought he was a lap dog or something as he tried to climb into Noah's lap, not that Noah would have complained, but there in public it was just a tad awkward.
However the idea seemed to leave Lewis' mind as fast as it arrived, the boy stood up and seemed to be stumbling his way towards a window. Noah was puzzled when Lewis looked back expectantly, but obliging walked over to the boy, putting a steadying arm around the boy's waist.
"I take it you want to go outside," Noah commented attempting to steer Lewis toward the door, rather than the window, but the scrawny boy was certainly stronger than he looked, especially after having drank so much nectar. Giving up the door as a lost battle, Noah reached around Lewis and opened the window. He almost laughed at the boy's efforts to climb out the window on his own, tripping and slipping on his jacket-kilt.
"Here, why don't I go out first, then I'll help you down the other side," He still wasn't positive that Lewis could understand him any more, but he had to try something, even if he was just talking to himself for the most part. With a smooth grace, Noah slithered up and out the window landing lightly on his feet like a cat on the other side. He turned and held his arms open for Lewis to jump down to him. The boy's sprawling leap was a bit like a monkey jumping from branch to branch, and the full force of it sent both of them sprawling to the soft grass.
Reflexively, Noah wrapped his arms around Lewis as they fell, taking the brunt of the fall. He laughed a little hugging the boy tight and whispered in his ear, "I've missed you."

Lewis liked the window. He stuck both hands out of it, and wriggled his fingers. The sun was warm on his skin and because he was still just a tiny bit plant, it made his skin tingle all over. He was humming again, that non tune that was simply happy and after a moment he realize that he was swaying as well. It bought a few giggles from crowd at the pavilion but by now they were used to the site of him that the novelty of his antics was starting to wear off. And on the other hand no one wanted Noah giving them the death glare.
He looked up at Noah when the boy came over and started to put one leg on over the window frame in answer. Noah started to pull him back from it though, and Lewis made a meeping sound, a look of displeasure creeping over his features. "N-no." He stuttered, wriggling in protest. It was a good thing that Noah stopped trying Lewis looked at him with wide eyes as he started to climb out the window too. Noah, who was more sure on two legs, was out the window in barely a second. Lewis started to follow, though his movements jerky and rather coltish, but anyone could see the enthusiasm in them. Seeing Noah hold out but arms to him, Lewis steadied himself on the window's edge and leaped. He giggled as he flew through the air, instinctively wrapping his arms around Noah and burying his face in the other boy's chest on impact. There were both on the ground in seconds, but thanks Noah protecting him Lewis wasn't hurt at all.
He was quiet for a moment, happily contented with the feeling of the sun on his naked back. Lewis' eyes had started to close when he heard Noah whisper in his ear and that made him look up. His lips moved, as if to echo the other boy's sentiments though after a minute or so he seemed to give up. Resting his head on Noah's shoulder once more, Lewis started to nuzzle him softly, placing a soft kiss on his neck. "M-missed...t-too." He stuttered smiling against Noah's warm skin.

The Stygian Ice around Noah's heart seemed to melt bit by bit at Lewis' touch. The boy was so innocent before his adventures as daisy, he was even more so now, and Noah couldn't help be feel protective of the boy. For once he wasn't bothered by the scandalized looks and jeers of the other students, what were they to him? If anyone had wanted to make something of it, Noah would easily gut them then and there. He held Lewis close, enjoying the physical contact, brushing his fingers through Lewis' hair, fairly content with just lying there on the ground in the sun, with Lewis in his arms forever. But then Noah felt a shiver, what some called "someone walking over your grave," and he knew their contentment didn't have long to last if he didn't get things squared away with Persephone.
He sighed deeply, trying to find some kind of solution, some way to keep Lewis from her wrath, but he kept coming right back to the same solution over and over. He would have to offer himself to her, as her champion...more likely her servant, even then there was no guarantee that Lewis would be spared her ire. He's musing were interrupted as a shiver coursed through Lewis' lanky body. Noah's eyes snapped open and looked up at the sky, it had gotten a bit colder out, but it was just a large cold pausing in front of the sun. He suddenly remembered Lewis' near naked state, which for some reason brought a faint blush to his pale cheeks, and hugged the boy closer.
"You must be cold," he said soothingly sitting up awkwardly. "Come on let's get you a nice warm bath at the Dionysus House," He helped Lewis up, who still seemed reluctant to leave even though his shivers were becoming more pronounced. Noah wrapped his arms around the boy from behind placing a light kiss on his neck, nuzzling his ear. "Come on, let's get you warmed up,"
It was slow going as Lewis squirmed and strained against going into the House, but finally gave in when Noah swept him up in his arms and carried the boy inside.
To say giving a boy with the mind of a daisy a bath was an experience, was a gross understatement. It ended up with both boys sitting in the huge bathtub together, Lewis as naked as the day he was born, and Noah fully clothed. How Noah ended up there, he still didn't know.

Lewis' eyes had closed and there was no telling if he had dozed off right there in Noah's arms or not. What was obvious though was he look of contentment on his face. His lips were turned up slight at the corners in something like a goofy grin and all the muscles and parts which he had lost use of as a plant was starting to wake up and remember their functions. The nectar helped, the sunlight helped, but most of all Noah helped. The other boy created a safe environment for the Lewis to start to heal.
It was only when Noah sat up that Lewis opened his eyes. A frown made his eyebrows come to gather and he stared at Noah as he started to get up. Lewis did not like this one bit. The sun was still out and he wanted to be under it. Lewis did not realize that things were getting dark and cold, such things were of no concern to plants, that his now human body was reacting to it and shivering against Noah. He struggled a little as he was lead toward another enclosed area and then struggled a lot more the closer they got. "Uh." He kicked a little as Noah carried him into the Dionysus residence, reaching around the other boy's shoulder and stretching his hand as if to feel the last of that weak sunlight. And then the door was closed and he was indoors and Lewis simply pouted.
Noah was taking him somewhere and he struggled every time they passed a window, simply being a difficult daisy. If they passed any of his siblings on the way, Lewis didn't notice though some of them did point and make off the wall comments like only Dionysus kids could. Noah sat him down when they reached their destination and Lewis would have used that opportunity to escape if he knew how to open doors. But Noah had locked it anyway and he had to just make do with pouting and looking around. It was only when Noah ran the bath water though did Lewis come around again. Oh...water. He hadn't been watered in a while. The jacket kilt he had on slipped as Lewis went over to the tub and sat down next to it, lifting his legs over the side so that he could dip his feet in the water. Apparently that wasn't how humans showered and he was stubborn when Noah tried to coax him into bodily going into the tub. It ended up with the other boy trying to carry him again, but Lewis had learned that getting carried always let to 'bad things' and clung to Noah like anything, refusing to be sat down in the tub. In the end the other boy had to get in as well and there they were.
Lewis stared at him, and giggled seeming to finally find things funny. He crawled over to Noah and cupped some water into his hand before spilling it over to other boy's hair. "W-w-water." He said, crawling into Noah's lap and patting down his hair.

If it had been anyone, but Lewis, to make Noah look like a drowned rat and giggle about it, that person would have a one way ticked across the River Styx. As it was Noah could help but let his glowering mask slide and smile as the boy's innocent antics. That wasn't to say Noah enjoyed being soaked to the bone in increasingly murky bathwater, but he resigned himself to his fate, trying hard not to think what his siblings would think when he showed up at the house looking like this. No doubt they'd think he'd gotten into a fight with one of the water god/titan kids...and lost. That would be a shame that he could never live down. I could be even worse once Joelle found out what really happened, she would never let him live it down. Riven wouldn't much care, not that it really mattered. Noah shivered a little as he was pointedly reminded that he was still wearing all of his clothes, and they were absolutely saturated with bathwater. He sighed and gave Lewis a quick hug before standing up and getting out of the tub. "Don't worry I'll be back, just enjoy the water," A small sincere smile broke his lips as he boot squelched water onto the marble floor. He stepped out of the bathroom to one of the hall closets and found it remarkably well stocked with fresh towels, he grabbed and arm full and slipped back into the bathroom, laying the towel on the counter, then locking the door again. The wasn't much the truly wrenched at Noah's heart, but the forlorn pout Lewis was making at the moment, almost sent Noah leaping back into the tub to comfort him. An impulse Noah firmly squashed as he stripped out of his dripping clothes. It hadn't been a conscious decision, but somewhere inside he knew that he had made the decision, he was going to join the squirrely boy and the tub, and have some innocent fun. He found hung his clothes over a vent, hoping that would dry them, at least a little, before he went back to the Hades House. He reached over and turned on the taps adding more warm water to the tub, well aware of Lewis' curious eyes following his every move. He couldn't help but grin as he got back into the tub, leaning back and actually enjoying the water's warmth. "Much better," Noah commented wryly as he peeked at Lewis through have closed lids smiling. It was just him and Lewis, not one else could see to judge or intrude, and Noah's mental and emotional barriers came crumbling down. "Come here Daisy Boy," he held his arms open wide inviting Lewis back into his embrace. Noah's smile widened as Lewis happily splashed back over into Noah's arms. There's was a devious twinkle in his pale eyes as he promptly began to tickle to skinny boy mercilessly. "If you pout much more, you are going to trip over that lower lip and leave a daisy butt in the air," Noah teased lightly, but not backing down from his tickle attack until he pinned the boy in a bear hug. "I'm the only one allowed to brood and pout," Noah breathed across Lewis' ear, kissing him sweetly on the neck and grinning to himself at his contentment.
