Lets Get More Personal
Likes: Likes: Long distance running, traveling and playing with dogs, He’s also and excellent Card Sharp, kilts, bow ties and various hats and jackets
Dislikes:Jokes at his expense, or being wronged by someone he trusts. If he is betrayed in such a way, he doesn’t forgive, nor forgets, at least not very easily.
Personality: Jake is playful person who loves a good harmless joke, just as long as it isn’t played on him. He’s always thinking and plotting the next move, be it a prank, or stealth operations to liberate some contraband. Even though he plans things to the Nth degree, his plans rarely work the way he wants them to. He gets easily distracted and forgetful, which ultimately results in all of his plans falling apart.
History: Jacob was born to Penelope Thomas-Orion in 1902, Upstate New York. Penelope fell in love with a dashing traveling salesman (Hermes), they spent a happy 3 weeks together before the salesman had to move on, and Penelope was left pregnant with Jacob. When her family found out, she was kicked out of the house and moved in with her best friend Oscar Orion, whose wife had passed on from the Spanish Influenza the year before. Two months before Jacob was born they were married and made a happy family. In 1915 strange things started to happen around the Orion family, neighbors and drifters showing up out of no where attempting to attack Jacob, who strangely enough to those that knew him, was able to repel the attacks. Oscar decided it was too dangerous to stay in New York and moved his family to Chicago, where things were quiet until late May; that’s when a hellhound chased Jacob from his school all the way to Navy Pier, where a satyr suddenly showed up and tossed Jacob a Celestial Bronze Sword. Jacob took the sword, and with a well placed strike, evaporated the hellhound. The satyr then explained that Jacob about the fact that the Olympian gods do exist and that he was a child of one of them.
Jacob returned home, and his mother confessed the truth that the salesman was in fact Hermes in disguise. They all agreed that it would be safest for the family if Jacob would spend the summer at Camp Half-Blood, and train up some before he returned home for the school year.
For three years Jacob went back and forth between Chicago and Camp Half-Blood, living quite happily then, he was finally given a quest. It was a simple quest, but dangerous none the less. He was to steal a magic necklace from a dragon outside of Las Vegas, and return it to Hermes. Preferring stealth above all else, Jacob managed to lose his questing companions and steal the necklace with relative ease, but as he was making his way to meet up with his companions he got sidetracked into the Lotus Hotel. Once inside he completely forgot about everything, and was living quite blissfully until a disturbance in the Hotel shocked him into remembering his quest. He managed to leave the Hotel and return to Camp, only to find that 92 years had passed since he left, and that he had already been considered dead.
This didn’t phase him for long as he slipped back into camp life, being with the people and doing the things he loved.

Sample post:If there was one thing Jacob Orion was good at, it was reading people. It was a skill that had come in useful more than once on this quest, especially in the Hotel at the card tables. It was easier that reading a book for him, the most telling feature was always the eyes, they are the windows to the soul after all, but attempting to read this boy in his sunglasses was proving to be a challenge. His physical demeanor was very stand offish, giving the vibe that if someone pushed too far into his personal space, he wouldn't be afraid to use his knife...in whatever way necessary.
Normally Orion was quite the chatterbox when he was studying a person, but his instincts warned that this boy wasn't really in the mood for small talk or light conversation, and since he was the only one armed at the moment, Orion was inclined to let him have his peace and quiet for the time being. He contented himself with studying the boys body...language, taking in his obvious tension, annoyance frustration and a myriad of emotion, silently cursing himself that he couldn't see the boys eyes to get a better read on what was going on behind that stony exterior, not that he could see much in the dim light of this cellar to begin with...
"So..You're a son of Hermes..what is that?" The boy asked, so obviously playing dumb. Orion couldn't blame him, sometimes the life of a demigod is just too much and you need a break from that reality. To just blend in with all the other mortal sheep, blissfully ignorant that the world of gods and monsters even existed.
Orion lead the way through the tunnel. They found their way into a big empty room lit by torches and only one way out. Orion stopped and turned to the boy "You're the one with a celestial bronze knife, why don't you tell me?" he said casually, noticing a faint blush come to the boys cheeks. Orion leaned against a wall suddenly very tired. "I'm sorry you got involved in this, hell I'm not really sure what *this* is. But I have a plan, well...not a plan exactly, the technical term is a "thing"...which is like a plan only with more greatness...I'm not exactly sure what it is, but I'm positive I'll have an idea by the time I finish speaking. At least that's how it usually works anyway..." Orion looked the exit tunnel over trying to come up with this "thing" he had said he had, toying with the necklace absentmindedly. Then the boy drew his attention to the pendant of the necklace. It was a small circle with the symbol of his father's Caduceus, in the center; the Caduceus, was glowing and spinning around in the circle until it settled pointing in the direction of the exit tunnel.
"Well isn't that something...it would make sense now wouldn't it, father's the got of travelers isn't he. Perfect sense that his necklace would be a compass of sorts..." he said eyes fixed on the small pendant. "well then, I guess there's nothing for it, we head this way, and with a little bit of luck we'll find either a place to hide out or something..."
The exit tunnel was extremely dark, narrow and full of twists and turns, even with the knife and necklace neither could see more than a few feet in front of them. "This is going to be tricky, and it would be really bad to lose each other down here, so why don't you put your hand on my shoulder, and hold on tight, while I lead us with my necklace. Make sure you tell me if you need a break, I've got some food and drinks in my pack..." his voice trailed off as his confidence began to fade. For as long as he could remember, he had never been put in charge of a quest of any kind, being responsible for anything that happened to this boy was an unsettling prospect. Not to mention how difficult it was for him to think clearly with the boy so close to him...frowning he did everything he could to focus solely on the necklace and the path in front of them rather than the firm grip on his shoulder, or the sound of nervous breathing near his ear...
As they worked their way slowly through the tunnel, the boy suddenly stumbled, pulling at Orion's shoulder. Following instinct alone, Orion reached out and caught the boy by the waist steadying him. "Maybe it would be better if we walked like this instead. And I'm sure those dark glasses aren't helping much, maybe putting them away for now, might be a good idea?" Orion suggested hesitantly, he really didn't want to make the boy any more uncomfortable than he already was, but he also know that if they were going to make it through this they would have to work together, and the handicap of the sunglasses was certainly no help.
They continued silently down the tunnel for long while before the world around them suddenly opened up into a large cavern with another Delta Symbol emblazoned on the stone wall. Orion looked around finding sheer drops on either side not five feet from them, frowning he looked at the pendant again, the Caduceus pointed squarely at the Delta Symbol.
"Guess there's little choice, we touch the delta and see where it leads us..." cautiously he reached up lightly touching the symbol, holding onto the boy as the wall and ground shook like an earth quake. Prays to his father for safety raced through his mind as he held the boy tight so neither of them would fall. They looked together as the rumbling stopped, the wall was gone revealing what looked like a hotel corridor. Together they cautiously stepped through the opened into the corridor, just as the cavern wall snapped back into place.
There were about half a dozen doors on either side of the corridor with a stairwell on either end, the wall behind them revealing itself to be an elevator as everything settled back into place. Orion started checking doors finding all but one of them locked tight. "I hate to say this, but I think you had better have your knife ready...just in case... taking a deep breath he pulled the door open and jumped inside, finding a first class penthouse suite, with complete amenities. Orion's jaw dropped at the luxury, it was beyond anything he could have dreamed of, he walked over to the King size bed that took up a significant portion of the room, finding a note on the pillow reading,
"Take a break in safety and security on us, Best wishes, A & E" with the signature A & E in the middle of a heart with an arrow through it.
Orion shrugged as he handed the note to the boy. "Guess we should stay here and rest up for a bit..."
