Lets Get More Personal
Likes: the seas/oceans, the song “Sunny” by Marvin Gaye, daggers, radish look-like earrings [Luna Lovegood influenced ^^], guitar, singing, pranks, family
Dislikes: spiders, heights, egotistical people, stealing, being conned, awkward silences, closed spaces, essays, reports, group projects, sports, small or dark places
Personality: Cami’s a hard boat/ship to pinpoint. Honestly. She’s a dorky goofball who tries to hard sometimes to get close and to get to know people around her place of living; in this case, the school and at the same time, she could be the first person to drown your ass if you tick her off. Cami used to be an only child and she kind of is a little bit spoiled in that sense of having a big ego, but not in materialistic things. She’s not used to having so many siblings or family members because both her parents were only children but she’s coping.
Cami has unpredictable mood swings. It is unclear if it’s a genetic thing or just her in general but she has weird mood swings. She’s been known to be a happy go lucky bunny one moment but then a really sad demititan the next. Then she’s also been known to be wicked sadistic with daggers and likes watching people squirm sometimes. She has a lot of fun just over all making people squirm and she loves to be clingy, like sometimes super clingy with people she likes and knows really well.
Cami enjoys the sound of the sea and the sound of crashing waves so she, more often than not, can be found near the beach or at an open balcony somewhere on campus that over looks the beach. Perhaps its because she’s weird but sometimes, the state of the ocean will change her moods. If the ocean is calm and she can’t hear the waves, she could become rather irritated where as when the waves are crashing terribly hard and so rough that only the demis that have control over water can go in safely, she’ll be calm and happy.
In short, Cami seems to be quite the normal teenage girl…if you overlook the fact she’s half titan. She doesn’t mind that she’s not completely human because it makes her feel special sometimes but she knows that they shouldn’t be revealing that to anyone, anywhere in the world. Perhaps it’s because there doesn’t seem to be a lot of demititans in the academy or if it’s because her social skills are lacking a lot, but Cami is quite alone. She’s cheerful, but somewhat friendless. Her circle of acquaintances is far and few and she feels quite alone a lot of the time. But you can never tell with how brightly she smiles.
History: Camille Tiffany Lee is the only daughter to Alan and Kyuri Lee. She’s the biological daughter to Alan Lee but was the adopted/step daughter to Kyuri Lee before she left them. She lived the first 7 years of her life thinking she was just a normal human girl until an incident at a beach (she ended up being submerged by an evil son of a b*tch for almost two hours; her father never had been so happy no one was around) made her dad realize that she was nothing like a normal girl and it should have clicked when he found her so many years ago on his door step.
Cami was told one day, her mother was out on one of her all day shopping trips, of her origin. Her little 7-year-old mind couldn’t fathom everything at the time but she listened with rapt attention. Her father told her that the meeting with her mother, her real mother, involved some confusion and even now, when she’s older, Cami still doesn’t really understand it. She understands the biology of it because seriously, who doesn’t but she doesn’t understand their meeting.
Some 8 years ago (remember that at this point, Cami was only 7 years-old), Alan Lee was at the top of his prime. He was handsome, rich, a little bit of a turtley son of a b*tch but he was definitely in and at the best shape and point of his live. He was engaged to a wonderful woman (not Kyuri), and was probably on the verge of getting a promotion at his job (computer sciences and software creator/management). Of course, for something like that, a somewhat perfect life like that, something had to go wrong somewhere.
During discussions of wedding details with his previous fiancée, there was a dinner for the two of them and Tethys was also in attendance at the restaurant they ended up choosing. She stood out among the people there, beautiful, alluring and just severely attractive. Alan didn’t notice her at first, his back was to her and she sat at the table next to them, completely fixated on his fiancée but it isn’t until there’s the his chair is knocked into the table that he notices.
His wine glass hits the ground, staining the carpets and he steadies the woman who had bumped her chair into his. As far as Alan knows, it’s probably his hands lingering just a bit to long on the stranger’s arm and hip that sets his then fiancée on fire. Alan ends up being shrieked at for something that had nothing to do with him and by the end of the night; Alan Lee was a not-so-pleased single man again. He figures that it’s the twinkling laugh that Tethys had given him that made him fall in love at first and even though he shouldn’t have, because he technically at that moment, was on the rebound after being dumped, asked her,
“So, since my fiancée has dumped me, broken our engagement and we’ve got some top notch steaks coming by in a few minutes, would you like to stay for dinner? I’ll pay,”
It was quite baffling because there’s twittering from confused patrons in the restaurant, from people who thought he was an ass, people who thought his fiancée was an ass and Tethys had just smiled and had no problems with it. Somewhere between the chocolate soufflé dessert and the next bottle of strong wine, Alan and Tethys were maybe just a little bit tipsy, and maybe a bit drunk. Who are we kidding though; the Immortals don’t get drunk right? They end up taking the soufflé to go and on the way home, Alan is only slightly aware that he was completely kissing a woman he just met.
What happens after he dubs amazing and Cami is forever scarred because who really wants to know the biology of being created? When Alan wakes up the next morning in his own home, he thinks he was dreaming but he’s nursing a terrible headache and his mouth tasted a little bit like cotton balls. He’s stumbling around his home and he passes the kitchen when he sees a scribbled note on the island. Thanks for the Soufflé. He’s a little bit surprised but then his phone rings and he answers it. He’s subjected to a shrieking phone call of his to be mother in law.
He ends up no longer being friends with the family, except for the younger brother who still found moments to drink with him from time to time and almost 10 months later, he ends up with a little basket on his doorstep. A small baby inside and a note that read, She’s yours. Do take care of our little Camille mkay?” At first, he wondered if it was true but then decided that leaving a baby like Cami to the care of orphanages and foster care wasn’t a good thing so he takes her in. A few days later he’s in the social services offices, ready to sign adoption papers and instead the lady at the counter gives him a weird look.
“Why would you need to adopt your own daughter?” He names her Camille, as per Tethys’s wishes and Tiffany because his mother liked the name. A couple of months later, Kyrui Kim seems Alan Lee as a single father and decides to help him because he looked kind of pathetic at times (they lived next to each other). Somewhere along the way, they ended up marrying by the year's end.
Cami is still a little confused when this is all said and done but she finds that it’s okay. Some years later, perhaps when Cami is about 12, she nearly drowns at a lake during a class trip when someone pushes her in for fun but somewhere during that flailing, she realized she could breathe…a bit. But it was too late and one of her upperclassmen ends up saving her.
Her mother divorces her father some months later when she comes home to see Cami submerged in the bathtub and a timer at the side. She wasn’t that stupid to assume that the numbers reading 13:24 was the time in military. Cami was present when Kyuri told her father that she couldn’t live with such a weird daughter. They were divorced that weekend and her father feels that she should be sent somewhere to get away from some depressing things that had been happening may have been too much.
So in comes someone from her mortal school, a friend of a friend. An acquaintance of sorts. An Upperclassman that just kind of talks to her out of the blue, well corners her out of the blue, an upperclassman, THE upperclassman who saved her from drowning in fresh water. From him she learns that he's a Satyr named Owen, for the record, she ended up flipping through her books for the definition or species of a satyr. Through him, she learns of the academy, an academy for people like her, people who weren't quite normal. The Half Bloods. Her father would like it if she got away from depressing news and all so he doesn't even hear half of the academy details before sending her to them.
Tethys claims her just as she steps through onto the school grounds. It was rather anti-climatic and they never meet face to face, at least not for a few years. A couple of years later, Cami is 15 and she’s at the beach spending time when a large wave crashes down and sweeps her right under. Her father freaks out of course but he can’t do anything as Cami is taken under water and taken very quickly. She ends up sputtering air bubbles at the gates of Oceanus’s palace. She hears the doors creak open and she looks up.
“My, my, my, Camille-dear, you’re…smaller than I imagined. I mean I monitored you through your life but you’re much smaller than I thought,” Cami just stared in confusion, and the woman at the door smiles. “I’m Tethys. Your Mother,”
“Were you trying to drown me?” and that’s how they met. It’s quite the mother-daughter bonding time. She’s one of the first demititan children in nearly thousands of years and they apparently had a lot to catch up on. Cami learns that she had more family than she ever thought of (of course, she knew from mythology classes that the greek gods and titans were all related some how so the other half bloods at the academy were her family too) but she also learns of one other demititan that was attending the academy. Her er…half/step brother, Jesse Monroe, the son of Oceanus.
She’s been at the academy since about 8th grade and she’s been in the high school for 2 years now. She’s starting as a sophomore.
Abilities: *can’t drown and underwater breathing = only in salt water, if it’s fresh water, she can only stay submerged for 20 minutes max before she starts drowning. She breathes normally in salt water though and it’s about 20 minutes in fresh waters.
*water walking = it’s more like water running and she hasn’t been able to stand solidly on water just yet. She’s getting there though. She can run just fine but for some reason, walking on water will cause her to sink like a log
*control of water = she’s okay with this power and can probably control small bodies of water (lakes, and lagoons). She doesn’t have the same amount of power or control as her er…half/step sibling Jesse. With fresh water, her control is okay, but only if she concentrates while with salt water it’s a little bit easier for her
*Resistant to Fire = Only if there is a source of salt water near by. Cami finds it a little odd because her mother is the Titaness of seas, oceans and the mother of all rivers and yet she can’t really deal with fresh water sources. If there’s a salt water source, natural source mind you, she’ll be okay in terms of fire. If there is no source of salt water, Cami is like every other human and will get burmed.
Weaknesses: *Fresh Water vs. Salt Water = Cami excels in salt water or if there are salt water sources near by. Her powers are “boosted” so to speak but if there is no natural salt water source, she can’t do much and is in short, WORTHLESS.
*Temperament = Cami has odd mood swings and when she’s terribly, completely frustratingly angry, she has absolutely no control of her powers and sometimes, her powers will vanish for a certain period of time, mostly just a day or so, after she calms down. Neither her nor her mother has been able to figure out why. They eventually just decide that it’s just Cami.
Other Information: Hm...Cami tends to bounce on her heels when she's super excited. And she's in possession of some daggers that boosts her control/lackthereof, over fresh water from Tethys.
