Lets Get More Personal
Likes: Being an Aussie, laughing and smiling, playing with water, riding her pegasus named Aleka, shiny things, sweets, surfing, sea creatures, being unique, being on the beach, the ocean (Pacific if you want to be specific) Dislikes: getting distracted easily, pessimistic people, eating too much, falling off of her surfboard, being sad, being on land Personality: Keana's generally a nice person, though she has her moments. Keana may seem like a listener, but in reality, she gets distracted by everything. From music to noises to talking to shiny things, anything can get her to stop doing whatever she was doing to watch or listen to whatever distracted her. Because of this, Keana has a hard time working in school, and is better off doing work in a quiet, secluded room. Even though Keana seems like a bad student, she really isn't. She works hard at everything she does, and most of the time the outcomes are successful. When they aren't, unfortunately, she'll just work harder until she either feels satisfied, or feels like she's accomplished the goal.
Keana loves to mess around with people and loves to be happy, and make others happy. She's rather talkative to everyone, even strangers. She still likes to do kiddish things, like building a sandcastle or flying a kite. Keana has a rather sneaky side, and loves pulling pranks on people at times. No matter in what situation, good or bad, Keana will always remain optimistic. She tries to look at the bright side of things, and when things don't have a bright side, then she makes it have one to look at. She rarely thinks about terrible things, and has a tendency to be perky. And lets face it, everyone's quirky, but Keana has just a smidge more of quirkiness in her heart. Being Australian, she picked up on the slang, and the accent. Her name also seems to bundle everything up in a present. Keana doesn't think of it badly. In fact, she takes it in the opposite way, and she's proud of her quirkiness!
History: Poseidon and Adrianna had met when Adrianna went fishing with her son, Xavier. How they actually began was when Adrianna wasn't catching anything, so he leaned over, and plopped his fishing hat onto her head. Immediately after, she had caught a Rainbow trout. Poseiden had gone by the name of Noah. "Noah" ended up coming home for supper later that same day. A couple of things happened later that night after Xavier had gone to bed, but the most important was that Keana had been conceived, Noah admitted that he was the god Poseidon, and then left. Just left.
Two weeks later, Adrianna found out that she was going to have a child. Delighted by this, she told Xavier who, thankfully, was pleased to know that he'd be a big brother. Nine long and stressful months went by, and Keana Michelle Cruz was born in Maui when Adrianna was on a vacation to see her parents. Bundled up in a yellow blanket, Keana was taken on a plane, then went back home to Australia.
Keana grew and learned things at a fast pace, but tended to become very distracted by things. According to her mother, she was very curious, and loved to be outside, especially near the ocean. She entered school for a short while, learning how to speak like an Australian, with her grades being B-C's. Xavier had then moved out to Hawaii a couple years later to attend college, where he would then travel the world in a boat.
Unfortunately, Keana's mother died when she was 8, and Keana had to move out to her Hawaii to live with her brother, who had become her legal guardian. While living there, she had learned to surf, and was surprised to find a trident above her head when she learned. She ignored this, and nobody else had seen. Meanwhile in school, she had found out that if she was set in a quiet room, then she could be able to do more work. Unfortunately, people made fun of her accent, but she remained optimistic, and found some friends. Xavier graduated college a year later, and together, they packed up all their valuables, and set out into the sea.
They traveled the world together by boat, meeting up with the friends Xavier had made throughout his life. Keana loved being able to experience so many places, and to have friends from all around the world. When Keana was 10, she had come across one of her mother's diaries, and ended up reading it. In it contained her mother explaining everything that Poseidon told her, and wrote down the address to Camp Half Blood. She had also mentioned about the trident that Poseidon had told her, and that's when Keana had run up to her brother, explained to him about the trident above her head, and told him that she needed to get to New York.
Xavier docked at an island near New York a couple days later. Keana had told him that she could go from here, and after a rousing debate, she was set off to go. Keana walked for a couple miles, carrying a surfboard, and two bags until she finally found someone, who then escorted her to Chiron. She then explained that she was a daughter of Poseidon, and showed her mother's journal to prove it. Keana was placed into the Poseidon cabin at Camp Half Blood, phoned her brother and told him that she made it alright, and has been doing the same routine since then.
Keana had discovered Half Blood Academy a couple years later, but decided that homeschooling was still the best bet for her. She always had the belief that since she was above her father's domain, nothing could ever hurt her, otherwise it would feel the wrath of Daddy. A couple weeks before school went into session, Keana was attacked at sea by a monster. In the process, her protector at sea, a short-fin Mako shark named Bruce, was killed. Xavier thought it would be best for Keana to go to the Academy. Keana didn't like this, but ended up not getting much of a choice in the end. Abilities: Upon contact with water (saltwater tends to work better than freshwater), Keana can gain strength, combat skill, and speed. She can also breathe underwater, and is unharmed by water pressure of any amount. She can control large volumes of water with great force, thus creating currents, or being able to walk on the surface of the water by building surface tension. When she's underwater, she can stay dry unless she consciously forces herself to become wet. When she touches objects underwater, they can become dry. She communicates telepathically with sea animals, most of whom treat her with respect, and equine animals (zebras, horses, pegasi, etc.) since Poseidon created them from sea foam. While she's at sea, she is able to know her exact coordinates (Latitude, Longitude and knots). She can sense where objects are underwater, and can communicate with Cyclops underwater. Keana is very resistant to burning, and can make an air bubble for her friends so they can breathe underwater. She can also harden water to form shields. Keana is a water manipulator, and has a healing factor when she is in water. This is capable of mending serious wounds and cure her of poisoning.
Weaknesses: Keana, like every other human on Earth, has a major weakness to chocolate. She also tends to have small OCD habits, and likes to keep everything clean. Keana can survive only a short time when in fire or magma. Other Information: Not a weapon or power, but Keana had a protector at sea given to her from her father that died trying to protect her. Keana is not sure if she will get another protector for the future.

Sample post: The dazzling lights of the city, the sounds of car horns, and the smell of her brother's coffee was pretty much enough for Keana to know she had made it to her destination.
"New York!" Keana's Australian accent had screeched once she and her brother were walking along on the sidewalk, Keana rolling two suitcases behind her. The Poseidon had left her bags for her brother to take as she ran up and hugged the nearest building, making a couple people on the street stare.
"Come now Keana, we gotta get going." Xavier, Keana's other brother slash legal guardian, told her as he pried her away from the building. He held the same accent as her. Xavier then handed her one of the suitcases, which she took.
"It's not my fault, you kept me away from this place for a year." she said to Xavier as they continued down the street.
"Well I had to see Jim, and Sinji requested that I visit him immediately. I thought you liked Tokyo."
"I do!" Keana argued. "But I haven't seen camp friends in forever."
"Same for Kyoto and Jane and Lauren, yet you're not missing them." Xavier muttered underneath his breath. "Well now you'll get to see them all year."
"Xavier, do I have to go?" Keana asked as he hailed a taxi for them.
"You know it's not safe right now. Especially after the whole monster incident at sea."
"Okay, so New York is safer than out in the middle of the sea." She said it as a statement rather than a question.
"You know why I'm making you go to the Academy. Now lighten up, this is probably going to be a better experience than what you think." Xavier said as they both had climbed into a cab to take them to Half-Blood Academy, where Keana was to be attending from now until she graduated.
"No, it's not." she said sadly. "I'll have to sit in a classroom with a million distractions, and have to keep pace with everyone else. What if I can't do that, Xavier? At least with homeschooling I could've taken as long as I wanted with schoolwork until I had gotten it."
"Don't be so pessimistic Keana, you're going to be just fine, I promise. If I can go through high school, as well as all my international friends, then so can you." Xavier said. Keana stayed quiet for a while after that, which was unlike her. Xavier had always said that she could never shut up, and that Keana talked a million miles a minute when she was younger. She just wanted to think about what lied ahead of her. She hadn't gone to a real school in years, even though there were her kind, as well as half-monsters and half-titans alongside her. There had also been a rumour going around that half-Romans were going to be there as well.
Xavier had given Keana a year to try it out. If she didn't like it, (Xavier could tell if she was lying just to get back with him) then she could come back with him when the year ended. Earlier that year, Keana and Xavier were heading to California to visit a couple of friends when they had been attacked by a monster that Keana still couldn't figure out the name of.
Before then, Xavier felt that they were safe – Keana had always said that she was "Daddy's princess" after all, and he came to believe this when a shark had shown up randomly one day that swam by their boat. Xavier was frightened that it would hurt himself and Keana, but when Keana had talked to him, they found out that this Mako Shark, who went by the name of Bruce, was sent to be Keana's protector while at sea from her father. Indeed, he was a protector, though he passed away when they had been attacked. Keana hoped her father would send another shark for Xavier to look after him while he was at sea by himself.
"Everything alright with you?" Xavier asked after a while, jolting Keana from her thoughts.
"Yeah, I was just thinking." she responded, turning to glance out the window. She kept watch for the academy, since she knew it was covered with Mist that her brother couldn't see, let alone the driver. Keana continued to keep quiet for the remainder of the time. When she had finally spotted the Academy not too far away, she had instructed the driver to pull over.
"Right here?" It seemed like the middle of nowhere, and just like all the other unfortunate cab drivers that had to drive her out there, they always wondered why.
"Yup." Keana answered, getting out of the car, Xavier following her. To Keana, this was always the saddest part. This was where she had to part with Xavier, only this time around it was for most of the year.
"Well," Xavier had started, "I'm gonna miss you."
"Same. You stay safe out there." Keana murmured, pulling him into a hug.
"You don't have to worry about me, I'll be fine. It's just the ocean, Keana." he had replied.
"The ocean! Big, scary ocean! With great white sharks that can eat our boat in two in a snap! You're not gonna have me around so I can be like 'Hey! I'm a daughter of Poseidon, eat me or my brother, or even so much as lay a FIN on this boat, and my daddy will be on your case faster than a killer whale!'"
Xavier chuckled into her hair. "You always amuse me, Keana. It's going to be lonesome without you. Keep your grades up, be good, don't pick any fights, play nice with your cousins, blah blah blah, you get the idea."
"Oh, you know I'll be fine. And you, don't overwork yourself, I don't want you to go insane out there, let alone have hallucinations. Sleep when you need to, and don't go anywhere exquisite without me. If you do though, at least send me a souvenir? After all, you dragged my butt to this bloody place." Keana glanced uncertainly back towards the academy. It looked so big, bigger than the Eiffel Tower, Leaning Tower of Pisa, and Taj Mahal combined.
Xavier saw the look Keana made when she looked at the invisible place. "You'll be fine. And I promise I will try, alright?"
"Alright. Love you Xavier, be safe." she said, kissing his cheek real quickly.
"Love you too, be careful." he told Keana, kissing her cheek. He then pulled away from her to give Keana the suitcases that she had dragged along. He then climbed back into the cab as she stood there, and waved as they had driven away.
Keana stood there until she couldn't see the yellow and black taxi. She then turned on her heel, and glanced at the academy, where according to her brother, she was to stay for a full school year. The Poseidon took a step towards it, then another. She was going to be fine, just like what Xavier said, she was sure of it.
