Personality: Excellent memory = Although not the intellectual type, Sebastian has the ability to absorb large amounts of information and retain them. He can take one look at something and be able to recall every single data, down to the tiniest detail. This gift has proven itself useful for Sebastian, especially in school homeworks and exams. Unlike other students who had to study over and over again to remember a book’s contents, Sebastian only had to read that book once. Saves him a lot of time and energy. However, because of this ability, he has a tendency to dwell on his past, making it hard for him to move on or forgive.
Killer Aim and Fast Reflexes = Once Sebastian set his sights on a target, whether it is moving or not, there is a 100% chance that he won’t miss it. It would do you no good to run. Probably, the best thing for you to do would be to hide from his line of vision. His fast reflex is also another skill that makes him a very difficult opponent to beat. Sebastian’s agility and dexterity come in handy whether he is on the defensive or offensive stance. Although an expert archer, his weapon of choice is the broadsword. And even though he has demigod abilities, he rarely uses his powers, opting instead for his mortal abilities in combat.
Excellent Charioteer = If there’s one thing that comes naturally to Sebastian, it would be charioting. Sometimes, when his father’s not around, he would steal one of Apollo’s chariot (not the one use to drag the sun) and practice himself with it. More often than not, however, he would find himself lost, in the account of not paying much attention to his surroundings, absorbed is he with the feel of the wind on his face, and the enjoyment of controlling the horses’ reins.
Lucky = Probably, this is the most useful ability Sebastian has. Saving his skin more than once, this gift has made him narrowly miss being a permanent resident of the Underworld. Quite handy with poker too.
Gardening = Something surprising about Sebastian is that, he is quite skilled in gardening and growing flowers. When he isn’t charioting or busy training, Sebastian can be found with dirt on his face and a spade on his hand, busily cultivating the soil.
Persistent/Doesn’t Give Up = Sebastian is the type of guy who never quits when he wants something bad. Some might call this stubbornness, others diligence. However it is called, though, it still doesn’t change the fact that Sebastian isn’t someone who surrenders easily. Along with this trait, he is also known for his patience and tolerance. And in the heat of the battle, competitiveness.
Keeps a cool head in crisis situations = Sebastian isn’t really one to panic easily. He has a good head on his shoulders. Calm and composed, he’d project an image not unlike his father’s ---- cool nonchalance in emergency circumstances.
Can’t Dance/Sing = Although he does appreciate dancing and singing, Sebastian is tone-deaf and is a really, really bad dancer. At parties and balls, he’d usually be found at the farthest, darkest corner of the room, happily contented at watching other couples on the floor. HIs lack of skill in this area causes him great distress, as his father is Apollo, the great god of arts and music. Tough shoes to fill, huh?
Shyness = It's no wonder why, really, that he turned out the way he is now. Sebastian is an introvert, but is not the emo/goth type. Unemotional and stoic, he gives off the impression of being distant and detached. He is civil towards his half-siblings, but isn’t particularly very close to them. He keeps to himself mostly, finding the company of other people too demanding. Although he isn’t completely averted to them, he just finds his solitude much more appealing. He does reply when spoken to and can be quite friendly when you gain his trust. Sebastian talks in a deep, solemn voice, as if everything is in grave matter, but he usually adds a small smile after, lessening the seriousness a bit.
Sebastian has an almost compulsive need to prove himself. People expect so much of him, and he feels like he couldn't live up to their expectations. It's hard enough to be compared to your father, harder still to make your own name.
He is painfully shy around girls and wouldn’t hang around with them. When he likes someone, though, he’d never make the first move, more contented with watching them from afar. It’s usually because everytime she comes near him, he’d always do something stupid and clumsy like stutter, or trip and fall, or forget to breathe. He sometimes masks his nervousness with sarcasm, such that, more often than not, the girl in question would get offended and leave him alone.
Self-Doubt/Self-Esteem Issues = Sebastian is a confident guy, however, he questions himself too much. Not very tolerant of his mistakes, he doesn’t forgive himself easily and is his self’s greatest critic. Despite this, Sebastian is quite an achiever. However, he does what he does because of Apollo. He tries hard to please his father and get his approval, often forgetting what he himself want in the process.
Can’t Say “No” to a Dare or When Bribed With Blueberry Cheesecakes = Sebastian’s greatest downfall.
History:
Hannah Aiden loved her father so much. She was his only child, and he gave his whole undivided attention to her. It came as no surprise, then, when he was struck with an incurable illness that she was grief-stricken. Praying to Apollo to heal him to life, she bargained him anything she had. Apollo, seeing that the girl was beautiful and lovely, asked for her virginity. Hannah, shocked at his offer, refused at first, but knowing that it was the only way to cure her father, finally agreed on the condition that Peter Aiden live for another 10 years. That one night of bargain brought two lives on earth --- her father’s and the baby inside her. She later gave birth to a boy, and because he was her own, she loved him dearly. She named him Sebastian and he grew up to ba a fine, handsome lad---- pale blue eyes like his father's and thick, dark locks like hers .
Sebastian always knew there was something weird about him, but he never thought of himself as special. Sometimes, he could hear voices when there was no one around. Or see centaurs on the parks or flying horses in the sky or even mermaids at the port. But they'd always disappear from him as quickly as they'd appear.
Then, on the child’s 10th birthday, his grandfather died of an accident, and suddenly messengers came flocking on their doorsteps to signify that the deal between Hannah and Apollo was complete. One of the messengers caught sight of Sebastian, and was startled to realize that he was an uncanny copy of Apollo. Bad news travels fast, and since he was a dark-haired spitting image of his father, it didn't take long for the god to find out about the truth.
The next day, the Apollo confronted the boy's mother. Sebastian remembered a fuming handsome, sandy-colored haired guy storming into their house, shining so brilliantly, it was almost dazzling. There was a huge fight between his parents. Everybody was yelling and screaming. Heated words were exchanged. His mother was crying at the same time. The child ran to her and hugged her tightly, hoping that it will somehow give her some comfort. Sebastian gave the man a very icy glare. It was a loyal and protective reaction on the child's part, but as he did, the stranger started to literally glow as if there was a radiant light coming off from inside of him. At the same time, the boy felt a sharp burning sensation on the middle of his forehead, like something was embedded into his skin. As he looked at himself at a nearby mirror, he realized a symbol was seared in his forehead area, accompanied with a intense flash of golden light. It lasted for a few more minutes before the glowing stranger stopped glowing, and symbol and the light on his head disappeared.
At the sight of what happened, his mother stood up and shielded Sebastian from the man. She was no expert on the ways of the gods, but mother's instinct told her that her son had just been claimed. She didn't want him to be taken, but somewhere at the back of her mind, she knew that that was inevitable. The sign on his forehead was the sign of the Sun God.
Apollo was furious. He was enraged, seeing that Hannah had the audacity defy him. Him? HIM!?! He was a GOD! Who was she? She was just a mere mortal! How dare she not cower in his presence!? Apollo was also livid with fury that she had the gall to keep something as important as this from him. Angry that he wasn't informed of this sooner, the Sun God forcefully carried off his son to somewhere far away, separating him from his mother. It was done more out of spite and as a punishment for Hannah, than love to his son.
Sebastian didn’t really know what to make of his father. He loathed him for taking him away from his mum. He dislike it that Apollo half of the time wasn't there with him. He despised being brought and kept hidden in a dark and the gloomy place he wasn't used to. But most of all, Sebastian hated his father’s treatment of him --- cool and aloof and impassive. He was, however, quite close to Artemis, his father’s twin sister, who usually finds time to visit him where they usually spend it gardening and planting flowers in the forest. Yeah, he knew she was a huntress. But he was glad that on the times that she was with him, she was more relaxed and less uptight with hunting.
He never did find out where it was that Apollo had sent him for the last 3 years of his life. He gathered it was a huge forest, judging from the endless sight of tall trees. He was forbidden to escape, but Sebastian knew that even if he tried, he'll never be able to. There was a large enough clearing though, in the middle of that area, where Apollo had chariots and horses and weapons stored in a barn-like structure. Sebastian, in his great animosity to his father, turned his rage to the weapons and chariots and taught himself with them, vowing someday to use Apollo's weapons against him and defeat his father with it. He was a fast learner and he picked up moves quick, for there weren't any distractions, and his concentration was focused.
Then, one night, as he was trying to sleep, he heard whispers of his mother dying. And suddenly, he knew she died of a broken heart. Sebastian wasn’t really sure what changed after. Probably it was the fear of losing another parent, but after that incident, he made a solemn promise to himself to make his father proud of him. Apollo was all Sebastian's got. He wasn't just going to lose him.
Sebastian was 13 when he was sent away to Half Blood Academy. It was definitely fun, but still, he felt empty and lonely. Something always seemed to be missing. He never had any friends, not really. He was excellent in training and it felt nice that there was always somewhere he could go to, but he always ached for something more. He wanted someone to be waiting there for him. Of course, his father visits Sebastian and his siblings when he feels like it, but Sebastian always had a feeling his father wasn't fond of him that much. He always feel a little lost. He never actually understood why he was dealt with that way, but he coped well. He felt like an exception. With him, Apollo wasn't the Sun God. He was a cold-hearted immortal who never really treated him any different from dirt. Apollo was much warmer to his other offsprings than with Sebastian. The boy tries very hard to not show he was affected with this, and over time, he had learned to school his features like he truly didn't care. Inside, however, he yearned to be treated like his siblings. Because he never had a real family, this was only to be expected. Yet Sebastian never lost hope that someday, he'd find what it is that he longed for.
Abilities: Aside from those mentioned in his personality, other demigod-abilities he got from his father are excellent healing, light manipulation, and telepathic communication to Apollo's sacred animals like the wolves, ravens, snakes and mice. Sometimes though, when he is really angry, he can cause unintentionally for someone to break-out into a minor illness like colds and flu--- and at the most, chickenpox (if that person hasn’t had it yet). Part of his ability being the son of a god who can cause plagues. Weaknesses: Aside from those mentioned in his personality again (Shyness and Cluelessness with girls, Can't Sing/Dance, Self-Doubt, and Blueberry Cheesecakes) Sebastian has a limit on his healing as well. He can’t heal himself, nor can he heal more than 3 persons a day. He can't also regrow body parts that have been cut off from a person's body, but if the part (e.g. limb) has not yet decomposed, he can reattach it back. He also has the tendency to be too cold and aloof that sometimes, others can’t read his emotions. Not that expressive, Sebastian has difficulty showing affection to others, even to those closest to him. Other Information: Just a huge broadsword with an intricately-designed hilt. It is as big as Cloud Strife's sword but is lighter in weight and easier to swing. It is also sharper and is not at all machine-y looking. It can transform into a fork for easier carrying, although, oftentimes, he straps the sword on his back.
Sample post: The sudden movement from the girl made him quickly take out his fork, transforming it to its original form--a huge celestial broadsword that gleamed in the darkness as Sebastian abruptly got himself into a fighting stance. His immediate change in position, however, shifted his standpoint and made him look at her in a different angle so that the ray of the moon hit her directly and cleared her identity to Sebastian when she had turned around to face him.
Gods… , he whispered in reverence, eyes widening slightly in awe as his mouth parted in surprise. Sebastian blinked a couple of times, wondering if he was now hallucinating as a result from his lack of sleep.
Shay du Rone.
The pale light shone on her beautiful face as her long dark hair fell and cascaded on her shoulders like waterfall when she took off her band, and whipped from her face as the wind blew it, making her look like some fiery angry goddess with her glittering silver eyes. The moon created an almost halo-like projection on the top of her head so that it gave her an unearthly divine appearance, and he stood there, stunned and shell-shocked into speechlessness. Sebastian couldn't believe that she was now standing there in front of him like he had conjured her straight out of his thoughts.
Slowly, he straightened up, lowering his sword and defenses when he had changed his weapon back to its more convenient form. Sebastian wasn’t really the type to be easily unnerved, therefore, it bothered him a bit how the Athena Resident Leader can effortlessly take reign over his control. He’s usually the epitome of calmness. Maybe it was an Athena power?
Shaking his head a little to regain his trademark aloofness, he pocketed his fork in his jeans. Although it still troubled him, Sebastian supposed it does seem a little funny how easily Shay can make him lose his normal composure. He took another step forward, walking towards her while releasing a long pent-up breath from his lungs he didn’t realized he had been holding in. Sebastian raised both brows upwards and gave a small wry smile when he, as he neared, saw her zipped up her jacket. Yep. It’s her, alright. No monster is comparable to both her beauty and madness. His guess was that she most likely hasn’t forgiven him yet for that little clothing incident that had happened at the flowerbed. He supposed he did deserve her hostility. What decent girl in her right mind would not feel anything but disdain to the guy who had almost gotten her killed and still managed to catch a glimpse out of her…uh…exposed self?
He frowned a little when he heard her arctic tone however, finding that couldn't helped himself get just a bit annoyed at that. It made him seem as if he had been stalking and had just been waiting for a chance to pounce on her. That was the farthest thing from the truth. Stopping when he reached an arm’s distance away from Shay, Sebastian folded his arms in displeasure, though his features showed none of his thoughts. “I was just here to get some air,” he said just as coldly, putting on his usual unaffected façade. “Last time I checked this beach was a free territory, Your Highness.” The last two words were said in a bored drawl as Sebastian stared indifferently, holding his gaze with hers as if in a challenge.
