Sitting in the library, chewing her gum, Dani looked around the rows and rows of books, trying to decide which to take out. To her it didn’t matter much, but she had to do something, or at least, try to. Blowing a bubble, she looked at all of the spines of books; some of the names on them were corny, some were only one word (that seemed to be a trend in books, she noticed), and some sounded at least ok. But then again, the last time she read a book, that is, before she started school here, got burned.
But then again, she had given that kid twenty bucks to burn the damned book.
Letting her fingers trail alongside the spines, Dani let her fingers linger on one book: Treasure Island. She had heard of it, but had never read it. Well, she needed a book, so here it was. Taking it off the shelf, she looked at it. It was old looking, but interesting. Finding a good place to sit in a corner of the library, she opened the book, and started reading. It certainly was an interesting read, she actually was kind of enjoying reading the book.
And enjoying a book, for her, was kind of a big thing. How the hell could anyone like any reading?
Well now she was a hypocrite. But oh well, she kind of had a feeling, on how Jim felt. Her favorite character had to be this Flint fellow. He was dead, but they talked about is treasure, and how bloodthirsty he was. ‘Must’ve had a hateful mum,’ Dani thought ‘maybe we had the same mum.’ Of course, Flint was fictional, but he did seem like a clever fellow. The more she read, the more the book enticed her, she had to know what was to come next, enough to not care if anyone was near.

Jacen wandered around the Library. The loss of his bookshelf back home, a shelf full of over 360 books, a collection that had traveled through four countries, through eight years, had been destroyed by his stepfather, had made him nearly depressed.
Nearly. Thank the gods for libraries.
He glanced around corners, and peeked high up the shelves. He spotted The Illiad, the Oddessey, the Aeneid... all of his favorites. The Da Vinci Code was there, and Harry Potter, of course. He began to get excited.
He picked the Argonautica, one that he had read, but not in Greek yet. Hmm... he remembered the first time he'd read the Illiad in Greek; so many improper translations!
He was rounding off the corner from the classics section, when he saw a figure, sitting in the corner. The corners, he noticed now, seemed to be ornately yet simply (he didn't know how it could be both at one time) decorated, and furnished with comfy armchairs, some near burning braziers and fireplaces. It all looked very comfortable.
"Hello," he said, trying to be friendly. He tried to say it softly enough not to bother her, for now he could see that she was reading. Common enough, in a library, he supposed, but somehow, she didn't look like the type to read a book. He looked over her shoulder, and saw instantly which classic she had chosen.
He approved her choice, and found that he liked her more now. Treasure Island was easily one of the best non-Grecian classics he'd ever read. Maybe it was time for a reread?
He went back to the girl now. "Is there a librarian around here? This place is kinda big... I almost got lost in the Greek section..."
