Jacen slowly walked through the section of the Titan wing that was his, all his. He grinned slowly; he could stay up late, read as many books as he wanted.... talk to anyone he wanted, no one to bother him... maybe even bring one of the Aphrodite girls in for some fun...
YES, he thought. He could survive here, even without his father.
Oh. His father. At once, Jacen had an image of his father's disapproval or this, how he'd raised him to be a good kid, a respectful one. Jacen knew, in his heart, that he'd never do anything like what he'd pictured in his mind, endorsed only moments before.
At once, a sense of longing for his dad filled him. Why had they taken him? He was pretty sure it was Krios... if so, was he even still alive? Was there even any hope left in searching for him, wasting his time and energy looking for him?
Of course, he chastised himself. His father was worth it. Surely, he'd do the same for me. Maybe, he reflected, even more. I will, he vowed, search to the edges of the earth for him.
Jacen continued looking around. Hmm... only one bookshelf? He'd have to ask other residences for another... maybe Ares... id they need one? Maybe for battle strategies or something? Even Aphrodite needed one for their magazines, he realized. Hmph.
Jacen wished he could have all of his old books back. They'd seen Greece, Amsterdam, even the jungles of Costa Rica, but they couldn't be here; he'd barely gotten here himself in one piece. His books would still be at home... if his home was left, after his escape.
His bed was comfortable, sure... but what really attracted him was the fishtank by the bookcase, filled with fish. Not your average goldfish, either; these were koi, carp, big fish. It would be fun to care for them; Jacen had moved around too much to keep a pet. Ah well, Jacen remarked, as he unpacked his clothes and changed into some dry shorts from his lake adventure. He fell asleep in his bed, even though it was only 7 PM.
